COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Scream pierces reality, effortlessly slicing our sky, He flies over the Brewery just as Abe circled over Wisconsin’s 8th Infantry during the Civil War. He calls us to something bigger. Scream boasts an inspired 85 IBUs that reverberate cleanly though this IIPA. New Glarus Brewery grown estate hops join other Wisconsin grown hops to dominate this brew from Kettle Boil to Dry Hopping. You hold a deceptively seductive Original Gravity of 20.9 degrees Plato following the always 100% naturally bottle conditioned fermentation. Luscious Wisconsin grown and malted barley along with English Maris Otter malt is the bold heart of this lustful sensory enchantment. Surrender is inevitable so enjoy today.

Note: New version of IIPA from the Thumbprint series. OG has been upped to 20.9 degrees plato.

Out of the bottle, poured a light copper, clear, with a pillowy off-white head. Bursting with all sorts of hop aromas (resinous pine, floral, citrus). On the palate the malt comes through with caramel sweetness to balance the abundance of hops. I get notes of grapefruit pith and ginger. Complex, creamy and refreshing.

Bottle to snifter. Looks solid; a hazy orange with foamy off-white head. Smells of fruity hops with a moderately bittersweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with some bitter hops as well. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full-bodied and finishes with a touch of unaversive heat. Solid.

Bottle from Greg (gregwilsonstl) -- cheers! There’s a good amount of hops and malt in this, but the main words it left me thinking were "subdued" and "balanced." Very clean taste, with a light, grainy malt profile and enough hops to be a IIPA while still being reasonably restrained. Pleasant, light, and enjoyable.

RBSG 2016 shared at the Grand Tasting after-party in the hotel lobby. Bottle. Honey coloured body, bright grapefruit citrus hop profile, balanced pale malts, assertive bitterness. Very good.

Intense citrus fruits, bitter orange, overripe tropical fruits, passion fruit, resin, pine. Slightly hazy, pale gold, small, creamy, white head. Medium bitter. More, bitter citrus fruits, bitter orange, ripe grapefruit, resin, bitter passion fruit, soft carbonation. Very nice IIPA, not on the league of either coast, but still, very decent. Bottle at The Old Fashioned, Madison, WI.

Seriously, this is a near perfect IIPA. Not heavy or overly sweet. Perfectly balanced with thee pine and grapefruit flavors. Easy drinking for such a solid thumper. New Glarus is consistent in excellence.

12 ounce bottle from Badger Spirits in Beloit, WI, sampled a bit below cellar temp from a New Glarus glass. Pale amber with a glowing, translucent sheen, thickish fairly substantial capping that recedes with stately, moderate speed...deep, sweet, honey’d orange and wet pine on the nose, lightly perfumy, not as strong or complex as some but quite inviting....on the tongue, a somewhat woody, dry character runs through the profile, with a very sweet and luscious (though not sticky) overlay featuring a moderate, consistent hop bitterness throughout but never totally dominating...thick and full, one is left with a juicy, warming, slightly bitter and lightly burnt finish. The mouthfeel on the whole is really quite something, containing burnt, sweet and bitter in a lovely balance, never fatiguing despite it’s thickness. For those who need to have their IIPAs insanely bitter - the Ruination model - this is not going to suffice; me, I can take both the sweeter, richer end of the spectrum and the rougher, more bitter types. This is a fine example of the former.

Bottle. Deep clear golden amber color, white head with good retention and lacing. Nice aroma of mango, pineapple. Taste is juicy bitter grapefruit, edge of pine. Delicious.

From a bottle at the DC tasting July 10, 2016 it is a clear light Amber color with no head. The aroma is citrus and the taste is strong bitter citrus taste that had a bitter finish
