Commercial Description:
Pure and crisp, this is a beer with nothing to hide. Wisconsin two-row barley malt ensures a mellow and smooth body. We imported Noble Hop varieties from Germany and the Czech Republic to ensure a fine mature aroma with no coarse bitterness. Expect this beer to pour a delicate golden hue that sparkles in the summer sun. Extra Pale is brewed using all natural ingredients with no artificial additives of any kind.

Bottle from the brewery. Typical pale yellow with a white head. Grainy nose with musty continental hops. Actually, the hops really come out in this one. Taste is a bit sweet and full bodied with a very clean bitterness to balance. I could drink tons of this for the summer.

Bottle. Poured a pale yellow with a white head. Aroma is quite grainy without not much else to it, maybe the slightest hops aroma. Flavor is quite sweet and very grainy and some malts. I did not pick up any hops. Really nothing special here but I guess it is a pale lager.

Pours a pale yellow with white head. Comes across the palate with a lot of grain and a little hops. Its ok, very similar to macro brews but a toleratable one.

The second in my short tour of the more pedestrian side of New Glarus this evening. Pours a pale golden color with a medium to small rocky head. This kind of smells like something between a Bohemian Pilsner and Miller High life, nicely malty with a mild grassy hop aroma and some fresh cut hay, it’s pretty aromatic just not a lot exciting going on there in that aroma. Flavor is better than the aroma for sure, nice little bright maltiness, some baguette like breadiness, and just enough zing of hops to make it all wonderfully balanced. There is a mild fruitiness but I can’t quite put my finger on specifics. This is terribly refreshing, and it is indeed what it is. A truly pale lager free of adjuncts, chemicals, and over processing. Delicious really, but really not very exciting.

Clear pale gold with a medium white head. Grassy hop, light sweet grainy malt aroma. Flavour is crisp, grainy malt, touch of corn in the sweetness? Light bitterness in the finish.

BOTTLE: gold pour, grain & malt on the nose, maybe some spice. Awesome hot day beer, but not a lot going on with the taste.

Bottle via trade. Pale golden in color with a fizzy white head. Aroma of grain, pale malt, and slight grassy pilsner-ish hops. Flavor more of the same, not too exciting but somewhat fresh-tasting if anything. Somewhat corny/grainy. Fairly light body. Drinkable and not bad for a hot summer day, but there really wasn’t enough to differentiate it from macro lagers IMO.

12oz Bottle - Trade - JJClark
Aroma: Light lager malt aroma with a light hopping.
Appearance: Light golden in color, clear with a thin head.
Flavor: Lager malt flavor this was a decent hot day brew.
Palate: Dry finish, with a Good Mouthfeel.
Overall: This was a lager b toe of the beer lagers for that. I would drink this any day before one of the big boy (BMC) lagers.
