jollyraider (253), Los Angeles (Westwood), California, USA Aug 23, 2005 Basically appearance is that of every macro out there, but the taste is only what you can get with high quality, no adjunct brewing. Pretty plain in every way, but it is so much better than the macros. What Bud, Miller, et. al. should be.
Baumgartner (58), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA Aug 18, 2008 Bottle poured to glass. Pours a clear sparkling yellow brew and an average white head. Aroma is a bit sour like sweat with a piney hops after. Clean tasting pale lager with minamal sourness that I dislike in pale lagers. Watery mouth feel a with plenty of malt flavor. undsioux7 (472), Cologne, Minnesota, USA Aug 15, 2008 Updated: Aug 16, 2008pours clear strawyellow with a small white head. Aroma of grain, corn, grass and a touch of spice. Nice herbal taste with a touch of hop, corn and spice. This one suprised me and is pretty good. Tmoney99 (3503), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 29, 2008 Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured clear dark amber color with medium frothy white head that diminished slowly. Medium malt and hop aroma. Light to medium body. Medium balanced flavor with a medium sweet short finish. Drinkable average brew Busted_Flat (401), Edina, Minnesota, USA Jul 26, 2008 Poured golden. Aroma - light grainy. Taste - sweet, floral hops with a touch of citrus. Very pleasant actually. I’m not a big fan of pale lagers, but New Glarus has done better than most with this style.
gonzo46and2 (108), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 21, 2008 This beer pours a pronounced sparkling gold. Small head but it laces all over the glass.
Smells like cut grass, hay, lemon zest; very summery. Sweetness is obvious. A bit like white wine.
Taste is clean and a bit watery but refreshing. I think that’s the angle. This mops the floor with any other macro in taste but it’s very similar at the same time.
Mouthfeel is light and watery. So what? That doesn’t mean it’s a bad beer.
Drinkability is off the charts.
