Proud family traditions of Weyermann Malting and New Glarus Brewing co unite in this classic country lager bred in the Baavarian style. Painstaking efforts created the floor malted Bohemian malts that blend seamlessly and exclusively with German Hallertau Mittlefrueh hops.

[Bottle] shared by DalzAle. Huge thanks. This was an unreal beer. Absolutely the best lager I’ve ever had. Pours a clear gold with a moderate, white head that mostly dissipates. The aroma is crisp, bright malts with just a hint of sweetness, light lager yeast, floral noble hops, and a touch of corn sugar. The flavor is outstanding, mostly mirroring the aroma, but the attenuation of the beer blows me away. The little amount of sweetness is blended perfectly with the light noble hoppiness and slight bitter edge on the finish. The mouthfeel is simply perfect - pillowy carbonation, not fizzy and distracting, plenty of body, and just an unreal drinkability. I wish they would make this a year round beer, cause I wouldn’t want to drink anything else.

Bottle thanks to MrPickles. Clear golden pour, crisp white head and a slightly sweet malt aroma. Flavor is incredibly crisp Hallertau hops, mellow malt some honey and wonderfully clean/balanced aftertaste. I really liked this and wish it was a regular release.

500 ml shared by Holdenn. Pours a decent hazed hue, golden and crisp wirh decent whiths bright head. Aromas are crisp and cereal grains, a light floral hopping, crisp and light on the palate. A very nice sessioner, light and bready with a light hopping, crisp cereal grains and a touch of deeper biscuit and that telltale Pils malt base. A nice crisp lager with a decent hop presence, summer sessionability. Probably not my favorite NG lager, a light hopping with a touch of grass and florals, minimal spice. But a tasty quaffable brew with earthy hop presence, crisp clean malty base.

20100725 500ml bottle from the brewery, this is my sixth or seventh bottle of the stuff and it’s definitely degrading slightly over even the short time since I bought it in May. Still a damn good, clean, tidy beer. Mostly clear golden with lasting, sticky white head. Aroma is fairly boldly yeasty with a dusty sort of barn/hay quality and reminds of dry grassy pasture and sun-warmed wood like the smell of paneling on a hot day. Flavor is biscuity, soft, and, while this one is beginning to show a slightly oxidized sweetness, the other bottles I’ve had didn’t show that much at all but rather a softly sweet floral note that tended toward a lingering light perfume. That’s still here. Quick hoppy finish with a slight tang. The beer doesn’t want to be put down. It’s not a sipper; it needs to be drunk, and quickly. Good times.

Pours clear gold with a tall, chunky white head that has great retention and leaves very nice sheets of lacing ant every drink. Aroma is cereal, light toast, nice floral and honey notes, a touch of yeasty bread and straw. Flavor is slightly sweet cereal, toasted grain, honey, a great bunch of floral hops, a touch of grass, straw and a touch of toasted, crusty, yeasty bread. Just a touch of of bitterness and mineral notes to the finish. Palate is on the heavier side of light bodied with a creamy entry and middle, leading to a slightly dry, mineral feel to the finish and a light, velvety carbonation. A delicious, well crafted pils, my only complaints are that its a bit expensive at $5/500ml and only available at the brewery. I could drink this stuff all day.

500ml bottle thanks to Arbitrator on BA. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head that fades to light foam. Aroma is that of a typical helles lager - grainy with sweet pale malt, honey, and hops. Flavor is sweet pale malt, honey, grain, and Noble hops. Very balanced. Nice light and crisp mouthfeel with good carbonation. Very drinkable and good for the style.

500ml bottle pours a clear yellow with a thin, creamy white head. Nose is nice, fruity, malty, light yeast. Flavor is malty, grassy, sweet, light citrus, apples, bread. Thin finish, very solid pilsner. Best New Glarus lager I’ve had.

Clear straw colored pour with a thin white head. Strong crisp and clean cereal aroma. Slightly sweet with lots of cereal. Bitterness grows as the beer sits in the mouth with very bitter grassy hop finish. Fantastic pilsner. I could drink this all day.
