COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Proud family traditions of Weyermann Malting and New Glarus Brewing co unite in this classic country lager bred in the Baavarian style. Painstaking efforts created the floor malted Bohemian malts that blend seamlessly and exclusively with German Hallertau Mittlefrueh hops.

Sampled at the DDOS tasting. Light yellow pour. Malt aroma with a nice noble hop balance. Taste is much the same, really nice malt with a perfectly balanced german hop bitterness. Very good.

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2010 500 ml bottle shared by csbosox. Pour is clear golden with a nice full 2 inch white head. Aroma is grainy malt, and a touch of sweetness and light floral. Pretty subdued nose, though nice integration. Taste is the mineral straw grain malt, along with a mildly clove yeastiness, then the floral touch of the nose. Nice balance between all the flavors. Palate is medium bodied, lowish carbonation and a dry crisp mineral finish. Tasty and easy drinking. Nice one, thanks for sharing Chris.

Picked up a single 500ml bottle at the brewery, south of New Glarus, Wisconsin. Pours a clear golden yellow colored brew with an average off-white head that quickly dissipates to a white ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma of golden grain malt, hint of tropical fruit, floral and grassy hops and a touch of sweet corn. Taste is medium bodied, average carbonated, with flavors of golden grain malt, hint of citrus and floral hops and some white bread. Finish is light, crisp, nearly clean cut with a short lived bitterness.

500mL courtesy of CaptainCougar. Poured a clear yellow with a fizzy, giant, fairly dense, white head. Spotty lace. Aroma is sweet roll bready, grainy, lemony, no off character: fresh grist, corn flakes, some slight sweet pineapple. Taste is bready and full and moves to slight Czech/German hops in the finish: drying, soapy bitter. Very clean and simple. I’d like to believe this is what Budweiser tasted like back before the world was taken over by computers.

Dog Days of Summer Gathering, thanks Juiceisloose. light golden, white head. fruity, with notes of honey/sugars, floral nose with touch of hops and yeast. flavors, medium carbonation, pale malts adding a touch of sweetness, yeasty palate with light bitter hops undertones, thin palate. Crisp and refreshing with the perfect balance of malts and hops, all within the Bohemian style.

500ml bottle, courtesy juiceisloose. Pours a pure, clear golden color with a small, smooth head of off-white foam. Some minimal lace spotting shows on the glass. The nose is as clean as a whistle, yet substantive. Starting out with the freshest possible flaked corn, grain, and straw, the moderately dry aroma suggests hints of baking bread and a good amount of grassy, softly peppery hops. It just smells refreshing as hell, literally begging a mouth watering reaction. Flavors are perfectly, and I mean perfectly balanced. There’s a very light and subtle grain sweetness, like under cooked bread that has just a bit of sugar left in it, while dry grains and grassy-floral hops add an excellent, bittering counterpoint. The body is crisp and mostly light, but there is some satisfying substance to it, and fine but lively carbonation provides for spot-on distribution of the the quenching elixir. Hot damn this stuff is good! Hedonistically speaking, it won’t turn many heads, but those who appreciate a fine session pils will go nuts for this stuff. Fantastic beer.

A mildly carbonated straw gold with massive white head. Malty aroma with faint lager yeast. The body is very crisp and refreshing. Another great lager from New Glarus.

Pours a crisp light golden color with a medium off-white soapy head. Aroma is grassy soapy hops, light citrus, and light bready malts. Taste is much the same. Finishes very crisp and clean. What Pilseners should be measured by.
