Recipe changed in 2011. Four thousand years before Christ, Sumerian women created the divine drink of beer. Viking women brewed in Norse Society. European Ale Wives were so successful as cottage brewers they were taxed. Artisanal women lost their domination of the daily ritual of brewing during the Industrial Revolution. Today’s brewing trade is controlled by men. The collaboration of two Craft companies both led by women, New Glarus Brewing Company and Weyermann Malting, is unique. You hod the result "Two Women" a classic country lager brewed with Weyermann’s floor malted Bohemian malt and Hallertau Mittelfrueh hops. A tempting and graceful classic lager found... Only in Wisconsin.

bottle shared. first off this is a lager and not a pilsener. medium copper orange pour with nice frothy white head. nice malty aroma with mild hop. also has a fruit essence to it. the flavor is either apple and or pear. but the malt and hop are nicely balanced with that fruity finish...I do like this one a lot.

New Glarus Two Women Lager has a thick, white head of foam, a mostly clear, amber-gold appearance, a good amount of white, suspended sediment, and not too much lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of honey, barley malt, and bread crust, and the flavor is of the same, with some background corn and mild hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and slick, and New Glarus Two Women finishes crisp and easy drinking. RJT

Pours darker then type... light amber. Aroma is yeast, bisquit, slightly sweet. Flavor follows with a slight pepper spice addition... dry finish. Particularly nice mouth feel. Overall, a lager with some substance and character.

Bottle pours copper penny with a vanishing, thin head. Muted dank aromas, tasting more like a tired Vienna lager than a Pils. Overall, surprisingly underwhelming beer from an other wise great brewery.

Basic lager. Darker than most and bit heavier than most. Some grain taste but not bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3/9/15. 12oz bottle thanks to Mrs. Owl’s family. I didn’t realize this was a new rating! Glad I checked! Clear amber pour with a nice off-white head, good lacing. Caramel aroma, toasted biscuits, toast, bready. Light flavor, bready, toasty, nutty, biscuit, a touch of tanginess. Not bad!

Nice taste. Labeled as a lager but appearance and taste go a bit in the direction of an ale from my point of view. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma sings of biscuit malts and caramels. Pours gold with a steady of white head, medium carbonation. Taste is more biscuit and malt with some nut. The palate takes a bit of zing from hints of citrus or some other tartness. Drinkable though not excellent.

Bottle poured a clear tarnished gold with a lasting white head. Aromas of toasted malt, bread and light earthiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of toasted malt, light caramel and a hint of earthiness with a crisp dry finish.
