COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Recipe changed in 2011. Four thousand years before Christ, Sumerian women created the divine drink of beer. Viking women brewed in Norse Society. European Ale Wives were so successful as cottage brewers they were taxed. Artisanal women lost their domination of the daily ritual of brewing during the Industrial Revolution. Today’s brewing trade is controlled by men. The collaboration of two Craft companies both led by women, New Glarus Brewing Company and Weyermann Malting, is unique. You hod the result "Two Women" a classic country lager brewed with Weyermann’s floor malted Bohemian malt and Hallertau Mittelfrueh hops. A tempting and graceful classic lager found... Only in Wisconsin.

Pale grain malts, cereal, bread and caramel. Clear gold, medium, frothy, white head. Light bitter. Grain and cereal malts continue, Lager yeast, light bitterness continues, lively carbonisation, light bodied. Decent Dortmunder, got quite a bit of flavour out of this one. Bottle at Hilton Garden Inn, Milwaukee.

Pours amber with a thick off-white head and a roasted toffee aroma. There is a medium-bodied mixed malt flavor with some spice and a little banana ester.

12 ounce bottle from Badger Spirits in Beloit, WI, served 5 minutes out of the fridge from a New Glarus pils glass, opened with a New Glarus bottle opener. I’m glad to be in love with a local brewery! Deep golden in color, lightly oily-translucent, with a moderate-to-large slowly diminishing just-off-white head that leaves some chunky flecks of foam...plenty of fresh bready, lightly honeyed malt presence in the nose and enough of those grassy Hallertau notes, with a hint of weedy/dandelion perhaps, but it’s the bready characteristics that dominate...body is a bit on the sweet side perhaps for this style, a touch syrupy, carbonation on the low side, a bit of mineral bitterness entering in near the finish...ultimately the pretty pour and the pleasant nose don’t quite deliver on the promise. Decent enough but not one of the brewery’s better lagers; I do remember the earlier version though I sadly don’t believe I took any notes when I had it in 2008-9; it may well have been better. Still this is fine summer drinking stuff and I had a couple of six packs of it last weekend with my brother, which helped us get through our summer reunion, political nonsense, and rain...

Bottle from Marcus. Pours medium gold with a creamy white head. Moderate noble hop aroma. Earthy, little spicy. Near med body. Flavor is a bit of sweet, bready malt with a little earthy/spicy hop. Mildly bitter. Rather clean. Not very intense flavors. Would do for lawn mowing or lake sitting.

Bready, grassy, not particularly flavorful but fine easy drinking sort of beer. Better options.

Not my favorite new glarus. Pretty bland for the most part. Would stick to the others.
