Commercial Description:
Hearty and full-bodied this is a “Big” bier. Brewed in the Reinheitsgebot tradition, our Bock comes by its mahogany hue naturally. You can expect this bier to be complex and smooth with deep chocolate and coffee undertones, complementing the rich bouquet.

12oz bottle. Poured a deep reddish / brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of grain (a very enjoyable graininess), sweet fruits, and caramel. Tastes of brown sugar, cocoa, caramel, nuts and grains.

Bottle... Very dark ruby lager with a small, creamy, beige head. Good retention. Milk chocolate, toasted cashews and toffee nose. The flavor is rich and malty. Chocolaty and sweet, but never becomes cloying. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with lively carbonation. Finishes chocolaty and bittersweet. Kudos to Monger for shipping this gem my way!

Light brown copper color with a soft white head and malty aroma. Body is full, sweet, and smooth with some chocolate notes and a hint of coffee. Finishes dry and sweet. Good bock flavor and highly drinkable.

Fully dark brown with good yellow-brown head, creamy and leaving textbook rings of lace. Molasses, dark breadsugar aroma’s. Bit of coffee and roasted nuts as well. Very coffeeish taste (more stout than Bock), dry, laurel. Lots of dark malts. Longlasting taste, in the end a bit chocolate/mint-like. Bit burning, even adstringent MF, well bodied, creamy texture. Blind I’d ventured stout. It misses the bready flavours of a German Bock to round it off.

Bottle, from trade with akevitt. It pours a reddish brown, clear body with a beige head. The nose is malty-sweet with a touch of oxidation, as well as slightly burnt caramel and some dried fruits. Caramel and roasted malt makes up most of the flavor, followed by a little oxidation and some dried fruits, and a little warming alcohol. Full body, slightly sticky, with a long roasted finish.containing some burnt caramel. It’s a nice beer that I wish was more full-bodied and slightly more flavorful. (080216)
