COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flemish monks brewed the first Abt. A voluptuous temptress they named for their Monastery Abbot. Belgian Dark Candi Sugar encourages the decadence of rum, raisin dark chocolate and sherry like fruit tones to conspire happily in almost 20˚ Plato. Rich and full bodied this is one to lie down or if you are bold enjoy now, but take your time - linger. This beer cries to be sipped and enjoyed.

2012-08-18. Very dark brown, nice beige head that fades a bit. 3+ Sweet sugary malt aroma, toasty malt accents. 7+ Similar flavour, quite malty, lightly fruity, caramel sugar accents. 7++ Smooth average plus bodied palate. Pretty nice, quite sweet and malt forward, pleasantly so. Bottle, Campground Brewdown 2012 shared by GT2

12 ounce bottle in a tulip glass, $5.99 in Madison, WI. Aroma is primarily raisins and some rum, some floral sweetness. Appearance is a dark, reddish brown without much of any foam. Taste is a lot like the nose: rum, roasted raisins, dates plums, all those sorts of fruits. It wasn’t quite as punchy as I had expected, which made it more drinkable but less bold. Palate is smooth, low carbonation, medium bodied. Overall, it’s a fine beer and very approachable. The best part was its easy-to-drink nature, which isn’t enough to make it memorable, but still makes it enjoyable nonetheless.

12oz I’ve had since my obsession with quads. Dark mahogany color with a thin pale head. Sweet rich nose. Sweet, dark fruit. Pretty tasty.

StFun supplied as an extra. Many thanks! To stemmed wine glass it pours a purplish chestnut brown with a trim, soapy off-white head. Picking up a lot of bubblegum on the nose; wet grass, tobacco, corn, table sugar, and rosemary. Tastes as it smell: bubblegum, table sugar, corn, and rosemary, with some nuttiness, yeast and a refined sugary sweetness by swallow. Drinkable, but just way too damn sweet.

Pours deep garnet brown. Brief tan head. Aroma of caramelized banana and raisons, hints of chocolate. On the tongue, add a hint of ginger spice to the mix. Silky on the palate, well balanced, a hint of fizz as you swallow. Medium body, with a medium finish. Finesse - doesn’t show-off, doesn’t dominate - like a fine Bordeaux compared to a fine California Cab. Props to New Glarus.

Great beer. Needed a lot of age most of the sweetness is gone. This bottle was from 2009. Aroma has a vanilla coke smell.(vanilla and caramel sweetness) taste has a rich caramel and toffee taste and with a strong rummy taste. This rich full mouth feel.
