Commercial Description:
Inspired by the Trappist brewers of Belgium, our heavyweight Quadruple tips the O.G. scales at 25 degrees P. Master Brewer, Daniel Carey, sourced the Brett yeast that boldly frames this refined and complex strong ale. First coddled in our Oak lager tanks and then slowly matured in bourbon barrels. This is a bold beer that sips like a refined cordial of nutmeg, dried cherries and vanilla. Perfect for lying down or sipping by the fire tonight. http://www.newglarusbrewing.com/beers/unplugged belgian quad.html

bottle. Pours clear copper/amber with almost no head. A sweeter, more toned down rochofert 10. Candy sugar, funk, oak, bourbon, cherries, alchohol,. Finishes pretty dry. Crushes my weak pallete like most belgians.

Thanks badgerben. Pours chameleon style, ruby red and two-toning to orange copper, basically no head at all. Aroma of berries, sherry, apple. Taste is candy sugar, sherry, very dry berries almost merlot like, raisons, dark fruits, caramel and alcohol in the aftertaste with a big warming effect. Very dry mouthfeel with a surprisingly good amount of carbonation. The alcohol overides a lot of the flavors though and I would definitely call this a strong ale and not a quad.

12oz bottle, courtesy of Monger. Thanks, James! Pours a clear, honey-orange; off-white head with patchy lacing. Tart, bretty aroma, showing candy sugar and tart cherries, red fruits. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy red fruits, cherries and strawberries; estery core with candy sugar and boozy fruit; strange, fruity quad character. Medium, red fruit and sugar finish.

dark orangish brown pour with no head..aroma large in dark fruit, syrup, brown sugar, and spice...perhaps a bit cloying..very unique quad flavor with citrus notes, raison, and caramel...very concentrated (perhaps a bit like an eisbock)..interesting, but a tad sweet

(12oz bottle, thanks kmweaver) Crystal clear light amber body topped by small beige head. Aroma is Flemish sour -- oak, some cherry, vinous/grape, faint Bourbon. Taste is medium sweet, grape/vinous, some oak, light cherry, Bourbon. Medium-full body, low carbonation.

Ken’s Thirsty Thursday Throw Down - Clear sparkling amber, fizzy off white head. Flemish sour-like nose with soft notes of raisin, oak, and cherry. Flavor held more notes of sour grape, raisin, cherry, honey, and oak. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light sour oak finish. Nicely done from this always solid brewery...

Poured a clear orange color. Flavor was light, fruity, some honey, pear and apple, citrus even, hints of vanilla and cherry. Not the most complex or rich deep tasting quad I have ever had, but I enjoyed it.
