Commercial Description:
Inspired by the Trappist brewers of Belgium, our heavyweight Quadruple tips the O.G. scales at 25 degrees P. Master Brewer, Daniel Carey, sourced the Brett yeast that boldly frames this refined and complex strong ale. First coddled in our Oak lager tanks and then slowly matured in bourbon barrels. This is a bold beer that sips like a refined cordial of nutmeg, dried cherries and vanilla. Perfect for lying down or sipping by the fire tonight. http://www.newglarusbrewing.com/beers/unplugged belgian quad.html

Pours a small head that falls into a thin layer with a nice lacing and a great color spectrum of golden to dark ruby red. There’s some sweetness initially, but then a light sourness comes in from the brett yeast balancing it out. I enjoy this more as the brett yeast comes out in the flavor.

12-oz. Pours crystal clear medium honey-brown amber. Huge towering sudsy head that fills the glass and then settles almost immediately to a thin tan sheet. Big fruity/estery cherry and bubble gum nose. Crisp light body, nearly still. Tart and fruity all the way through the mid-palate. Long, slightly crackery finish. Very sweet for how thin it is, and hides the booze amazingly well. As it warms and breathes, the bourbon starts showing through as an isolatable flavor component.

Bottle, thanks to after4ever. Pours a clear bright copper with a thick and fluffy white head that produces tons of lace. Aroma of lemons, nuts, fruit and spice. Soft, medium body and moderate carbonation. Sweet taste of fruit, spice and oxidized apples. Dry, oaky brett finish, but the wood is nicely understated, not the full-on "AGED IN OAK BARRELS!!" level of oak. A nice sipper that just gets better the further I get into it.

12 oz. bottle from drewbeerme (I think). Pours clear dark amber, with a small off-white head that leaves spotty lace. Fruity aroma, sweet, bourbon and brown sugar, clover, honey and citrus notes, wood and vanilla. Sweet and warming flavor, oak barrel flavors, rich syrupy fruits, vanilla and oak, barrel flavors become dominant as it warms. Medium body, a bit flat with faint carbonation.

12oz, pours a dark apple juice and smells to match, apple juice, strange.... the taste is different though... a mild spice with some fruit and vanilla, which is interesting... this is the first ABT that i enjoy without too much yeasty funk.

Pours a thin, filtered, deep amber. Aroma is spicy, cherries, vanilla, but not the typical yeastiness that I would expect from a belgian quad. Flavor was sweet cherries, toffee, and vanilla. Palate was a little undercarbonated. Not a bad beer, but not even close to a typical belgian quad.

Lighter amber color with a sparkling white head. Aroma has a very nice bready, yeasty, cherry, sweet thing going on and some Brett detectable. Flavor is a tasty and highly drinkable Bretty-sweet mix - Flavors of cherry, lots of oak, sugary sweet malts, and a syrupy dessert goodness that was surprisingly good. Nice feel - the Brett shines nicely. I really enjoyed this unique interpretation of a quad!
