Inspired by the Trappist brewers of Belgium, our heavyweight Quadruple tips the O.G. scales at 25 degrees P. Master Brewer, Daniel Carey, sourced the Brett yeast that boldly frames this refined and complex strong ale. First coddled in our Oak lager tanks and then slowly matured in bourbon barrels. This is a bold beer that sips like a refined cordial of nutmeg, dried cherries and vanilla. Perfect for lying down or sipping by the fire tonight. http://www.newglarusbrewing.com/beers/unplugged belgian quad.html

12oz bottle. Sweet cherry and cinamon spice aroma light up the nose. Copper body color with beige head and spotty lacing. Sweet fruity plumb, cherry, spice and thickness of body actually hid some of the alcohol that is somewhat noticable.

12 oz. bottle from foppa78 - thanks for the rotted garbage, Mat! It pours a cloudy orange-amber with a small off-white head that settles into a ring and light film around the edges. The aroma is indescribable. Kind of like rubber, paint, dusty drywall, musty basement, cardboard and sugars. The flavor is more predictable - just as musty, but not with the weird chemical/construction notes. Caramel, cardboard, laundry, brown sugar, raisins, basement. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and an oxidized, dry mouthfeel. Kind of sweet, too. Iím giving it some benefit of the doubt points because I know better. But good gravy, I hope we had the last bottle in existence.

12oz bottle, thanks to phaleslu for sharing (via foppa). Mostly clear orange amber color. Kind of hazy with some particles in the body Off-white head. Some ropes and bits of lace. WTF. Aroma of fresh paint and rubber cement. Wow. Never smelled any beer like this. Medium to bigger body. Kind of slick texture. Lighter carbonation. Moderate to bigger sweet taste, light bitter, touch of sour, mild bite. Ugh, the aroma though. Itís like concentrated Home Depot. Reminds me of an under-construction fast-food restaraunt. Cooked vegetable and cream in the finish. Wanted to keep sipping at this, to decide just how much I hated it. I kept lowering the score more and more. One of the most busted beers I have ever had (apparently itís from 2007 or so). As per peterís advice, at some point you just have to put it away. I may have ragged on it more, and lowered the score further... but this is where I stopped.

Bottle from Faro in a long ago trade. 2007 release. A clear brown with a dense, off white head with excellent retention and nice lacing. The nose is rich and complex with nutmeg, allspice, vanilla , a little alcohol, apple cider, whole wheat bread, caramel, brown sugar and a hint of cinnamon. Awesome stuff. The palate opens medium full, moderately sweet, with toffee, bread and vanilla before a warming mid palate. Burnt sugar and spices are present with a pleasing nutmeg character paired with an enjoyable burnt raisin, apple cider and vanilla character. Bourbon character is mild, mostly present as vanilla. Awesome soft, smooth palate. Excellent stuff.

Shared with my buddy Mike. Nice sweet nose. Fruitcake and nuts, bread. Pilsner malt. Sweet cracker and cookie notes. Smooth vanilla barrel, creamy and delicious. I really enjoyed this.

Bottle shared by Brian - thanks man! Pours opaque mahogany, thick and creamy with a small drown head and some lacing. Aroma is very malty, some spices, caramel, toffee, yeast. Flavor is the same, definitely quad-like but some oxidation evident as well. Full body and rich mouthfeel. Tasty beer that was probably better a couple of years ago.

A very aged bottle. Copper Pour and the flavors havenít lasted too long. Some fruit and malts, but some definite oxidization. Wish I could have tried the beer awhile ago.

12 oz bottle from pepsican. Thanks, Andy! Pours a richer deep brownish copper hue. Healthy deeper haze, ruby copper glow in the body, darker yet inviting. A frothy offwhite head dies to a mellow ring, laces small. Aromas are lots of apple, fruity elements, a bit of pear, cherry, and gentle raisin. Carmelized malt and brown sugar, caramel. Yeasty life, bit of vanilla, banana bread. More jabs of apple and/or cherries. Cidery, fruit, gentle toffee malt. Yeasty, a touch of oxidation. Initial is medium bodied, a dose of cinnamon and brown sugar, firm caramel, toffee, and biscuity malts. Carmelized, a touch of oxidation. Middle shows a touch of heat, good dose of fruit. Apple, a touch cidery, cherries, and gentle dried dark fruit. A bit thinner into the backend, yeasty, mellow spice, cinnamon with carmelized malt. Touches of heat, lingering spice, red fruit and gentle sweet toffee malt, fruity melange. A bit older, thinned, but still kicking pretty well. A bit oxidized. I think Tail Wagger has held up better. Still, pretty solid offering here if a bit aged.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, hazy orange-red with thin to no white head. Aroma has notes of caramel, bread pudding, hints of earth, vanilla, touch of oxidized cardboard, hints of grass and grain. Taste is a mix of caramel, toffee, vanilla, hints of cracker, touch of earth, finishing fairly sweet, bitter, slightly dry.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2012 Bottle at home with friends, courtesy of Armin. Big thanks for this one man!! Pour is hazy orange with a small white head that quickly dissipated. Somewhat oxidized, caramel, toffee, a hint of banana, clove, cardboard, bread, and old earthy hops in the aroma. Taste is toffee, golden raisins, figs, clove, banana, biscuit, bread, and vanilla with a slightly spicy finish. Medium body with light carbonation. Pretty tasty, but a bit past its prime, although the alcohol is very well hidden.

Bottle thanks to summer secret santa. Pour has a dark amber color and a ring of white head on the glass. Aroma has some fruit, sweet malt, yeast, and a bit of earth. mouth feel is medium and there is low carbonation. Flavor is so sweet, rich malt, dark fruit, alcohol, and a lingering finish. I just can not get into this one.
