Commercial Description:
In 1985 before The Wall fell, and just after the birth of our youngest daughter, Dan followed his Siren’s Call making the true Brewer’s pilgrimage to the birthplace of modern beer; Pilsen. Inspired by the noble brew he scribbled notes; triple decoction, 100% Czech Moravian malt, fermentation in unlined oak tanks, generous amounts of Saaz Hops, Krausening and a three month ice cold lager. An elegant masterpiece of complexity lost to change in the Czech Republic. We resurrect and invest, by brewing without compromise, that exact Old World recipe and this is the brew - Bohemian Lager.

12oz bottle served in a shaker. Golden pour with a light haze and a thin head of off-white foam. Spotty lacing. The aroma consisted of fresh citrusy, herbal hops and bread dough. The flavor had a crisp Saaz bite and a nice bready, pilsner malt backbone. The hops are on the forefront, but the bitterness isn’t overwhelming or astringent. Very clean on the tongue. Medium to full-bodied with a light amount of crisp carbonation. I wish I could have had this when it was really fresh. Still drinking nicely at this point.

12 oz bottle acquired via trade. Hazy golden color with nice effervescent bubbles and a mild white head. Aroma is apple, pepper, some citrus hops, a little breadiness. Flavor is sweet citrus/apple with some peppery spice and a light yeastiness. Pretty tasty for the style, another solid one from Dan and the boys at New Glarus.

Septemberfest. Sample from a bottle shared by me. Solid yellow, white cover. Aroma is light corn, heavy grain. Taste is again heavy grain, grassy finish.

12oz. bottle poured into a Footed Pilsner at 40°. Color is a hazy golden with mellow carbonation and a small tight white head. Aroma is faint with a sweet yeast and grain scent. Taste is creamy and bitter. Starting with a bold light body it goes down with a creamy feel. Finish is a mild malt sweetness with a hint of hop flavor and an even bitterness. After taste is clean with the bitterness hang in the back of your mouth. Overall I feel it a great example of this style.

bottle, pours a rich gold, medium frothy white head. Sweet apple cider and peppery hop nose. Crisp sweet pale malts and well balanced fresh sazz hop bite. Very nice pilsner.

Bottle via trade thanks to badbeer on BA. Clear golden color with a creamy one-finger white head and good lacing. Aroma is sweet pale malt, corn, and citrusy/grassy hops. Flavor is basically what Budweiser hopes it could be in its wildest dreams. Sweet pilsner malt with some corn/graininess, but in a good way, and grassy, earthy Saaz hops, and a little citrus. Body is medium-light with a fairly dry finish and some hop bitterness lasting. Great example of a rather uninteresting style.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden, with a tiny bit of head that has some nice lacing character. A little sweet and malty with bit of citrus. A very drinkable lager.

Bottle from stfun? Light orange in color, decent head. Typical lager aroma, light hops and sweet malt. Taste is nice for a lager. Light hops, light crystal malt. Light in texture, easy drinking. Overall...great example of a lager but still boring compared to other craft ales. Thanks josh
