COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is Danís Gold Medal winning "Unplugged Cherry Stout." This ale is aged in Oak barrels to promote the spontaneous fermentation. Eight Wisconsin malted barleys combined with Wisconsin Montmorency Cherries make for a complex and sublime taste experience that you may never find again.

Drank this right after the Kuhnhenn Raspberry Eisbock, which was unfortunate because itís wonderful. The first thing the nose reminded me of was my great uncleís old, sweet, musty books, which was joined by a vanilla-esque, sour cherry, sweet barnyard aroma. There was an initial, metallic flavor up front which disappeared on the next sip. Fruity body was consistent throughout and a light finish made this beer an easier than usual stout to drink. This beer is the perfect blend between the Belgian Red and the Raspberry Tart since it has the sweetness of the Belgian and the tart of the Raspberry. This is barely a stout and borders on a Fruit Beer. Definitely will purchase a four pack to hold onto for awhile. Much thanks to hezron for getting this from the brewery today.

Bottle. Thanks to footbalm for the brew. Pours a nice, deep red almost mahagony color. Very little head and a few carbination bubbles. Very nice aroma. Rich cherries, malts and a touch of oak. Wow, what a flavor. Taste just like a bing cherrie. Sweet, with a little tart bite in the finish. Malts, and maybe a touch of licorice. Finish is very clean with a nice, little bitter reminder at the end. Tha alcohol is very well hidden. I could go for a few more of these.

Very dark ruby red pour with a very light brown head. Unfortunately, I think this beer smells like dried spit (bad) and red wine (good). The palate is sour and acidic. Feels and tastes like sparkling grape juice. I donít get much of a stout feel but overall this is a good beer.

Wow I really enjoyed this. Very dark redish brown, little head. Smells like a cherry coke with hint of dark chocolate. Smooth milk chocolatey in first sip, but finishes like fresh dark chocolate covered cherries.

Perhaps the fruit flavored stout Iíve had. Not as strong a fruit beer as the Belgian Red, or as a kriek, but you can definitely taste the cherries. This would be a great beer to introduce someone to stouts. Not too much alchohol or bitterness, but still reasonably complex.

From bottle. Pours deep black burgundy with thin khaki head. Very up front cherry with something dark smells. Starts with malty sweet stout flavors and changes to cherry flavors. Very crisp ending. Enjoyed this a lot, will buy more.

From WeeheavySD. Phenomenal beer. lightly tart, chocolate and coconut nose and the same in the flavor with maybe a little wood and smoke. It was hard to wrap my head around this beer other then to say it was one of the more uniqrue and delicious beers Ive had.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2007 Man, this beer is HUGE. Its one step shy of being syrup. A huge cherry taste with a huge boquet. Slightly smokey aftertaste. One of the best Unplugged beers in my opinion.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2007 Dan has done it again. This is one amazing fruit beer. A strong taste of cherries and a great aroma and appearance. It goes down smooth and has a wonderful aftertaste. The oak taste only adds to this wonderful beer. I will be sad to see this beer become retired. (I only wish dan could keep this one as one of the year rounders!)
