COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A few times a year, we will cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, unplugged. Always handcrafted, this beer is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. A complex and intriguing original. The mystery began with wild yeast spontaneously fermenting a rich treasure of malted barley and cherries. Unlined Oak casks breathe deep vanilla hues and chords of smoke into this sour brown ale. Our Master Brewer has forged a smooth garnet tapestry that defies description. Wander off the beaten path.
2006 vintage - 7%
2010 vintage - 5.5% (separate entry)
You can tell the vintages apart as the 2010 bottles have the © symbol to the left of the UNPLUGGED banner while the 2006 does not.

Bottle thanks to wavers!! Cherry and cinnamon. Great vanilla and oak flavors. So much cherry. Love it!

In the smell you would think this is a sour beer, with sour cherries, apples, and brett character but the taste changes a bit when all those ingredients are mixed in with caramel and subtle hints of chocolate.

Pours an opaque amber/chestnut color with a medium tan head. Aroma has nice sour vinous/earthy notes, sweet cherry, and oaky vanilla. Flavor is complex...leathery sour notes, musty hops, sour cherry, and oaky vanilla. Mouthfeel is light and lively and the finish is dry with vanilla/oak and a hint of cherry. Wow.

Thanks to ryan or GT2 for this one? This one strikes me as better than the older, 7% version. A more complex and nuanced dark fruit profile mixes with great tart oud bruin presence, touches of balsamic (but in the good way, like Earthmonk), and that great tart cherry. Sweet, but the tartness cuts through it and provides quite a nice mouthfeel. A marked improvement over the 2006, in my opinion.

Brown pour with a thin light tan head. Malty aroma with a bit of molasses, grain, and caramel, maybe even some maple syrup. Very sweet flavor with light tartness. Caramel, oak, vanilla, and cream.

Bottle… This beer rocks!… Clear copper ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The bouquet is a funky, fruity mélange of wood, cherries and funked-out socks. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and vibrant carbonation. The flavor presents cherries, yogurty lactic acid, vanilla and caramel. Tangy-sweet, fruity finish. Thanks so much to biggsbowler for sharing this world class bottle of beer!

This poured a murky lighter brown colorw ith a beige head. Aroma was of light vinegar, light musty fruit, some funk, and yeast. Flavor was not overly tart, but definitely sour, some nice cheesy funk with cobb webb basement taste too. PRetty decent.

12 ounce bottle that poured a cloudy amber color with aromas of tart cherries, wood, and some acidic notes. Taste is tart cherries, oak, vanilla, and some funkiness. Really great beer that I wish I had more of, after each sip, I wanted more.
