COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A few times a year, we will cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, unplugged. Always handcrafted, this beer is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. A complex and intriguing original. The mystery began with wild yeast spontaneously fermenting a rich treasure of malted barley and cherries. Unlined Oak casks breathe deep vanilla hues and chords of smoke into this sour brown ale. Our Master Brewer has forged a smooth garnet tapestry that defies description. Wander off the beaten path.

Bottle shared with timfoolery. Pretty good flavor and all but just tasted more like a sour apple cider than a sour beer.

Shared bottle with Timfoolery. Tastes a lot like sour apple cider. An overwhelming amount of apple flavor. A little thin bodied on the palate. Decent brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from trade. Aroma is of Brett-infected apple ale. Flavor is the same. Eh. Good sour beer...not great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled at DLD 2013. It poured a cherry red color with no head. The aroma was of cherries, oak and some lacto. The taste was similar with fruits, cherries and berries, some sweet vanilla, toffee and oak. Tasty.

Bottle from Rich. Slightly hazy bronze color with a medium, tan head. Red grapes and tannins, milk chocolate, cloves, and sourdough. Very sweet and a little tart up front, with a little sourness and funk in the finish. Medium body, lightly astringent, warming, and hard. Overall, this is a very mellow, relaxed, and drinkable sour ale, but with a very unique and complex aroma. I don’t know what this was like new, but after three years, it is excellent.

Clear amber pour with just a slight reddish hue to it. Nice white foam right up to the top of my New Glarus tall glass. Nose is tart cherry / cranberry with some wood notes. Soft tartness, cherry, a touch of sweetness from the malt and some oak in the finish.

On reconnait tout de suite la touche New Glarus, lacto, cerises, acidité musclé. Bonne bouteille pour réveiller les vestiges de sauce piquante encore sur mes lèvres...je sens pu mes lèvres.

Pours amber. Small fizzy off-white head that leaves quickly. Nose is sour cherries, crayons, vinegar, a touch of wood. Taste is slightly tart cherries, old apple cider, slight sweet- tart finish. Fizzy mouthfeel, initially feels like it will leave dry finish but ends somewhat watery.

Bottle from trade. Thanks! My first New Glarus. Pours a deep clear reddish pink with a small head that recedes quickly. Aroma is light cherries, some sour vinegar, and a bit of caramel vanilla. Slick mouthfeel and tastes like cherries, vanilla, wood, and some apple. Maybe a hint of ginger and cinnamon but not "spice" by any means. Thr vanilla in the sour makes this one somewhat sweet. High carbonation keeps it very drinkable. Very unique brew, and a winner for sure!
