COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Complex and intriguing original. The mystery began with wild yeast spontaneously fermenting a rich treasure of malted barley and whole cherries. Unlined oak casks breathe deep vanilla hues and chords of smoke into this sour brown ale. Our Master Brewer has forged a smooth garnet tapestry that defies description. Wander off the beathen path.
2006 vintage - 7%
2010 vintage - 5.5% (separate entry)
You can tell the vintages apart as the 2010 bottles have the © symbol to the left of the UNPLUGGED banner while the 2006 does not.

Pours a murky amber with hardly any head. Aroma is fantastic. Sour, funky, and sweet... a rush of cherry leading the pack. Flavor is also phenominal albeit a bit lighter. Superb.

i rated the wrong one i think so this is the rating from the other vintage please disregard the other one/ i was given this beer at the eclipse party in 2012 its not the 2010 unplugged label so i think its the 06 being it looks like what the 06 says it looks like. that being said wooooowzer this beer was amazing poured a bronze amber with a small fleeting white head first the smell of fresh apples then small pepper and cinnamon notes it is then a whole new ball game sour tart fruit in my face no wounder these guys are the fruit beer gods. wow

12 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours a filthy reddish brown with a small beige head. Nose is full of tart cherries, apple cider vinegar, oak barrels and subtle notes of vanilla. Flavour is much the same, bringing out loads of apple cider vinegar, fairly tart cherries, accentuated beautifully by the oak barrels, which provides a lovely wood and vanilla quality to it. Mouthfeel is vinegary, but also fairly thick, with all notes in great balance. This beer has aged beautifully over the 6+ years. Really well-balanced, with not too extreme tartness. Reminds me of the amazing Cuvee de Tomme by Lost Abbey, though not as complex. All in all, excellent stuff.

Murky mahogany pour with an off-white head. Some acetic sourness on the nose, dark fruit, and tons of cherries. A bit of malt sweetness, oak, and must. Strong cherry, dark fruit, and sourness on the flavor. Some musty funk, a bit of oak, and some red wine vinegar. A moderate malt sweetness of toffee/caramel, and a bit of chocolate. Perhaps just a hint of clove on the finish.

HUGE thanks to CaptainCougar for sharing this. Pours a clear amber color with no head. Tart aroma with earthy notes, citrus, must, caramel malts and slight vegetal notes. The taste is sweet malts, citrus, earthy, musty and herbal notes. Medium-full bodied. Nice beer.

Cloudy brown pour, thanks to ryan for this bottle! Nose holds really good cherry, vinous wood, vanilla, and dark fruit in the form of plum and fig, but there was an unmistakable tone of wood varnish in there with some super sweet caramel and molasses as well. Not bad, but not impressive.

355mL thanks to ryan. No (c) on the UNPLUGGED banner on the bottom left. Glass bottle date is 2006. Pours a muddy, hazy tea red with a sticky, tan head. Nose is cherry, pie crust, mulling spices. Taste is rich cinnamon, cherry pie, cloves, spicy wood. Such a great beer and one of my favorites. Faux butteriness from pasteurization of the sour blend. Creates a richer palate known well in NG Belgian Red, Raspberry Tart, Old English Porter, et al. Such good stuff.

Muddy reddish brown with a sudsy head. Furniture polish and huge oak lead to dark fruit and vinous caramel grape. Toffee and caramel lead to sweet dark sugar and mild funk. Medium body with low carboination. Sweet finish.

Brown pour with lots of crap floating around. Slightly roasted aroma with notes of oak and cherry. Slight sweetness. with moderate tartness. Some cherry. A bit of chocolate.
