Aroma is rich with sweet and tart, just a bit of the oaky tones. Flavor is soft at first with a wet, sweet and tart feel. Then the pie cherries and with more intense tartness kicks in. Light woody notes and even a bit of vanilla. Thanks Footbalm for sending this treat. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 23, 2007 Sweet cherry and vanilla nose as it’s pouring from the 12 ounce bottle. can the nose be tart??? as I raise the glass to my face, the aroma is alarming my senses that something tart is about to happen!!! Beautiful dark orange color with a thin layer of white head, sheeting lace of tight, tight bubbles run the inside of the glass as i take my first big sip. Cherry, cherry, cherry, very similar cherry taste to that first moment of drinking their Belgian Red. Instead of getting the sugary sweet rush, as with their Belgian Red, the aftertaste is immediately dry and slightly salty/smokey. Great body, the definition of "medium" here. Cheery tartness teases the roof of mouth in the aftertaste that also hints of vanilla and some faint spiciness. Bockyhorsey (2511), Mesa, Arizona, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 15, 2007 Pours a hazy amber with deep crimson and cream hues. A small off-white head is constant, light lacing left behind. The aroma is sweet and tart. Notes of dry wood, vanilla, sour cherries and grapes, caramel, grapefruit pith, brettanomyces and herbal hints. Alcohol is squarely present. The flavor is very tart and quite refreshing. Sweetness is medium-high, but reserved in comparison to the teeming acidity so readily apparent. Bitterness is mild and refreshing. Wood notes and soured fruits grow in potency with each sip. Finishes boldly acidic and sour, vanilla, caramel and brett lingering. The yeast profile throughout is ery light but quite organic and earthy; fits well. The mouthfeel is light-medium in body, with effervescent carbonation, prickly and fun. Very good, will no doubt continue to improve for a short while as carbonation further fines and brett grows more apparent.
