Commercial Description:
A Complex and intriguing original. The mystery began with wild yeast spontaneously fermenting a rich treasure of malted barley and whole cherries. Unlined oak casks breathe deep vanilla hues and chords of smoke into this sour brown ale. Our Master Brewer has forged a smooth garnet tapestry that defies description. Wander off the beathen path.

Pours caramel brown with a decent head. Aroma of cherries stands out. Very nice sweet and sour combo.

Pours a cloudy reddish brune with little head at the pour. A nice swirl of the glass brings ups a nice disspating reddish white head. Aroma is very impressive, much less sweet and vinegary than I was expecting. Overipe cherries, dark spices, and vanilla beans all fill the nose. Flavor is great, not overly tart, with a nice dry sour cherry finish. Much more balanced than some of the other offerings. The palate on this brew is very nice as well, velvety.

Beautiful full rich head that gives off a wondeful tart acidity. Dry and enticing mouthfeel that is ever so amazingly complex and refreshing.

oak aging brings out a real vanilla flavor paired with the tartness of granny smith apples. a rich amber color was beautiful, but the palate was light as was the flavor compared to the aroma.

This is very good. I thought I tasted cherry and here I read it is part of the description. Interesting thy brewed this and the cherry stout at the same time; maybe they got a deal from their cherry supplier. Aroma is quite sour, with light yeast, just a hint of barnyard and some balsamic vinegar. Flavor is sour cherry and a hint of more vinegar. A little sugar. This beer is best when slightly chilled. The flavors and aromas are less vibrant when at room temperature.

Pours a dirty non-transparent cherry color. Aroma is that of tart cherries. The taste is tart with a mix of cherries and a hint of an almost green apple-like taste. The finish leaves much to be desired with an average carbonation and weak bitter taste on the roof of the mouth. Re-Rate 2/21- Pours a murky red-tinted brown color with a thin white head that disappears quickly. Aroma is tart cherries, green apple, oak, and cigar wrapper. The tart cherries and green apple hit me up front with mild carbonation. The finish lets me down as it is flat and not crisp or tart. A lot chewier than most other sour ales I’ve had. Still a good brew, though.

Thanks again to Heemer77 for gifting this fine beer to me. Pours the muddy orange brown one comes to expect from these sour ales. Nose is tart and fruity--something resembling citrus and some cherry. There’s some very strong ginger and spice notes as well--it brings to my mind a couple vintages of Anchor Our Special Ale, in fact. Tastewise, there is even more going on--lemon, oak, vanilla and more. This a beer that could be very successful in a couple different rolls. It’s strong, malty and spicy enough to serve as a something of a winter warmer yet the tartness adds a lightness that makes it refreshing in the summer. No matter how you cut it, this is a wonderful beer.

12 oz bottle from Coffee Ground IN Eau Claire, WI. Pours a cloudy dirty caramel color body with small fizzy quickly fading light brown head. Aroma is of tart cherries, raw oak, yeast, and dark fruits. Wow! Flavor is sweet tart with a burst of natural cherries. Lots of oak, light smoke, and a smooth bite at the finish. A little raspberry at the finish. Very Nice!
