Commercial Description:
A Complex and intriguing original. The mystery began with wild yeast spontaneously fermenting a rich treasure of malted barley and whole cherries. Unlined oak casks breathe deep vanilla hues and chords of smoke into this sour brown ale. Our Master Brewer has forged a smooth garnet tapestry that defies description. Wander off the beathen path.

Pours an off whie head, cloudy with a red caramel body. Smell is funky. Carbonation is medium to high- very sour ale. The cherries are present, but not the main act like the Belgian Red. The brown ale aspect is more evident in the after taste. I actually enjoyed this more than Belgian Red which I’m sure is sacrilege of some sort. Glad I had a chance to try this unique offering.

Its been a while, yet this reminded me all along off the New Belgium. Copper amber colour with a cherry Slimovitz aroma, with alcohol. Small head. Average mouthfeel. Great cherry taste and satisfying aftertaste. Thanks jpm30 for this unexpected bonus, you are generous to a fault.

12-oz. bottle courtesy of tjthresh. Pours cloudy amber with a small fizzy off-white head, mostly diminishing leaving an oil slick on top, spare lacing. Aroma is average malt (bread, caramel), average hops (herbs, lemon), average yeast (dough) with notes of cherries, pear, peach and honey. Light bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation and a chalky finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness and bitterness, light acidity; sour candied fruit, caramel malt, light port flavor.

Thanks to Dad for this brew. Body is a foggy brown, with no head. Aroma is vanilla, oak, black cherries, very tart, some caramel, marachino cherries. Taste is oak, cherry, vanilla, caramel, lemon juice, pretty interesting beer. the lemon throws it off a little bit, but still good.

first sip=what the hell . second sip=ok I get it. third sip= I think I want another sip. This "beer?" has a strange taste, not really beer (well sorta). Fruity cherry, sour, creamy taste.

Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy and GregClow, my bottle via trade with iowaherkeye. Murky orange brown, small head, lovely. Oh, man, that’s a wonderful aroma - brown sugar malt, sour yeast, tangy oak resin and vanilla - but it works, not a BA monster like so many - well balanced and blended, the three vectors (sweet, sour and oak) work well together, I keep getting orange juice acidity. Taste - just fantastic, a real "drinker" - fruit tartness that my taste buds say "citrus" to, but I can see sour cherry; earthy sour yeasty funk and soft vanilla tannins - smooth, not aggressive and freakin’ good. Sticky body, mild carbonation, plus-medium acidity (I was expecting more) - balanced finish, a tingle left on the tongue after every sip - this is how it’s done. Top marks.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry & blankboy - courtesy of HogTownHarry. Slightly murky orange-amber with a wispy head. Aroma is astounding - perfect combination of sour funkiness, sweet vanilla and mellow oak. Same goes for the flavour - definitely a great sour ale in there, but the barrel aging gives it a wonderful sweet edge, with notes of vanilla and whisky. Man, this is a fucking great beer!
