I love how there is a mild sourness but nothing overpowering, This is my kind of flemish sour. probstk (1027), Nepean, Ontario, Canada

App.: light copper, clear, no head. Aroma: cherries, root beer, spicey (cinnamon and clove mainly), dirty barnyard. Palate: med. body and fairly low carbonation. Flav.: loads of mulled cherries, spicey, sweet and tart, lightly bitter. A very nice "first". piscator34 (1121), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 20, 2006 Bottle via my friend Trevor. Dark red in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas of cherries, a hint of vinegar, and vanilla. In the mouth a great balance is struck between the cherry, oak (vanilla), nutty almond, and gentle sourness. A cleamer finishing than expected, but that’s not neessarily a bad thing. Complex and flavorful, yet very easy to drink. Good stuff. Glouglouburp (2811), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 19, 2006 Updated: Oct 23, 2009Cloudy dark-red with a very small white head. Aroma is very much what I expect from an Flemish sour (oak and cherries) and so is the taste. A excellent beer that looses a few points to me for feeling a bit sweeter and more syrupy than average for the style. Restrained sourness, sweet red cherries, woody, some liquorice. Very good. How can a little 2000 souls Wisconsin village be the home of a brewery producing an excellent belgian Flemish Sour is another Enigma. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 18, 2006 (Bottle) Pours brown with lots of sediment and very little head. Woody character, with vanilla notes as well. Sour, with little carbonation. Very interesting... I’ve never had anything like it. SoLan (1411), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 18, 2006 Courtesy of SS, aka Dickinsonbeer. Ugly multi brown with a small, frothy, off white top. Robust malty nose with wood, smoke, sourness, subtle cherries. Similar flavor- toasty cookie dough malt, lightly smokey wood, and vinegar soured cherries. Medium body, smoother than balanced. Very nice. sloth (1662), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 18, 2006 Pours a murky brown color with a small light brown head that hangs. Lacing is spotty and thin. Nose of oak chips, fruit, cherries and cedar that are all very appealing. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation, an almost silky palate. Spicey (cinnamony) cherry flavors, lively oakiness and dry malts, gently tart and full flavored. Dry, fruity finish. Vanilla notes appear and just right lumber flavors that last. Props to OhioDad for a couple bottles of this surprisingly well crafted brew! awaller05 (300), Sharon, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 18, 2006 Is it me or is Dan Cleary(brewmaster) stuck on cherries. I know that Wisconsin has an abundence of cherries in the Door County region, but come on already. This one reminds me of the Unplugged Sour Brown.
