Sweet cherry flavor dances with caramel apples and some cinnamon. Very tingly. Overall a damn tasty brew. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 29, 2008 12oz bottle from October 2006. Consumed almost two years later. Poured into a Duvel tulip the color is a murky reddish brown. There is only a minimal head of white cream that clings to the glass. The aroma has a nice sourness that is mellow, not sharp. Its smooth through my nostrils and not hostile in any way. It also smells sweet like candy. I’m anxiously awaiting the first sip. I’m not disappointed, and I’m immediately wishing that I had more than one bottle of this to enjoy. The flavors are all smooth and well blended - if this is attributable to the age, than I’m glad I waited. The candy cherry character is nice and I like the residual sweetness. This is dessert beer, but very drinkable. kmeves (1081), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA

Flavor is tart and fruity and goes down somewhat fizzy. Medium heavy body with average carbonation. Yet another fine beer from New Glarus. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 26, 2006 bottle-sampled with vyvvy-pours cloudy brown with a small soapy white head. aroma is awesome-vanilla all over the place with undertones of tart cherries, vineous wood, light dark fruits, black cherries, faint smoke. the flavors realy do match the aromas here-lots of vanilla and vineous cherries, but not overly sour, just somewhat tart. palate is lightly carbonated which is different than most of their other fruit based beers. awesome complexity and some really cool flavors here. definately happy i have one more bottle of this stuff. fly (1334), austin, Tejas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 7, 2007 Tart, acidic, complex and quite beautiful. Nice play on mouthfeel with chewiness and carbonation freaking around and helping the flavor engage my troubled and weary tongue after a long night - just mazing how it cut through all the residual beer tasted prior. Excellent choice by the generous guy that I prefer to think of as the asshole most know as Walt. Even though his attempt to take my title away shll not remain unchallenged. Would love to experience this beer again even if I had to face Walt once more. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 15, 2008 This beer poured a murky brown appearance with a moderate sized head. The flavor contained some nutmeg, lots of sour cherries, and a woody presence. The flavor was somewhat sour with more cherries, some citrus notes, and oak. A nicely done sour ale! | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 16, 2007 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry & blankboy - courtesy of HogTownHarry. Slightly murky orange-amber with a wispy head. Aroma is astounding - perfect combination of sour funkiness, sweet vanilla and mellow oak. Same goes for the flavour - definitely a great sour ale in there, but the barrel aging gives it a wonderful sweet edge, with notes of vanilla and whisky. Man, this is a fucking great beer! badgerben (3610), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 6, 2006 Deep murky reddish brown color with a quickly fading head. Strong aroma of wood. It’s nice to be able to smell an oak aged beer and not smell a glass of Jim Beam or Knob Creek. The taste is a powerfully deep malt and cherry blend. Mild biterness towards the end. The wood almost obliterates the rest of the taste, but still, dang lovely.
