COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Some people paint, some sing, others write...I brew." --Daniel Carey A few times a year we will cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, unplugged. The bottle you hold is handcrafted for the adventurous soul. We brewed this one small batch, and make no promises to ever brew this style again. Warning: Caution. Our Imperial IPA will smack you In-Your-Face. This is an aggressively hoppy IPA. An explosion of hops including East Kent Golding, Cascade, Tomahawk, Warrior and Chinook dominate this pale summer brew. IBUs delivered like you’ve never enjoyed before. Our imperial IPA is alive with a bottle fermentation that catapults hop aromas to the front with bitter notes that will dance till dawn on your palate. Serve immediately at 45 degrees F. Thanks for Supporting the Arts. --Daniel & Deborah Carey

12oz bottle. Rating #161. Golden/orange pour with a nice white head. Great aroma, nice citrus and light pine. Flavor was a little onion, but in a good way, nice bitterness and a damn fine brew. (1694)

Pours a brilliant gold in my snifter, with a thick white head. Aroma is huge citrusy hops with bready/toasty background. Body is full with nice carbonation. Flavor is again huge citrusy hops, but balanced with toasty malt. Crisp, super-smooth finish.

12 oz. bottle from shigadeyo. Pours a slightly hazy honey color with a small fizzy white head that disappears. The aroma came bursting out of the bottle and still had a surprising amount of hop character: sweet, ripe fruits, still some citrus and pine, grapefruit all with a sweet caramel maltiness. The flavor opened with some caramel malt and ripe fruit, but also had a good amount of earthy bitterness through the finish. Pine resin and grapefruit are also there. There are hints of oxidation and this has drifted toward being a barley wine, but I am surprised how well this has maintained some hop character. The alcohol remains well hidden in the flavor. Medium bodied with a slight burn as it goes down. I would have liked a chance at this fresh for comparison sake.

Dark semi hazy orange color with a small white head. Aroma is nice. Sweet juicy hops, some citrus and a bit of tropical fruit. Flavor is not too overly hopped. Juicy tropical hop flavors and not bitter. Smooth, nice body great finish.

Traded bottle. Pours a nice clear bronze colour with an off-white head and nice lacing. Pleasant pine, hop aroma plus a little caramel. Hops in the flavour are more piney than citrus (not bad). The finish is what gets me though...seems fairly medicinal and ethanol-y. Okay.

Bottle shared by shigadey. Poured clear copper color with an average fizzy off-white head that was mostly diminished with minimal lacing. Moderate to heavy sour citrus hop and small malt aroma. Medium body with slick texture and flat carbonation. Medium smooth bittersweet hoppy flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is was a good beer.

Bottle at pauls tasting. Pours a pale golden body with half inch white head. Sweet pine and grapefruit dominate the nose. Lost of earthy undertones in the flavor, grassy hop resins light butter and a malty caramel. Good brew.

12 ounce red-foil topped bottle Out-f$^#ing Standing!!!! Pours a fantastic hazy light orange with a 1-1/2" white fluffy head. Great lacing left. Moderate carbonation streams to the top. Big on the nose. Very hoppy, earthy, citrusy grapefruit, piney, all the usual culprets in a great IPA. The taste was amazing. Great hops up front balanced very well with the malts. Buttery mouthfeel. Very easy to drink as the alcohol is undetectible. A damn shame that it won’t be brewed again anytime soon, if ever.

Review from notes from summer 2005, bottle as part of a mixed Unplugged 4-pack. Beer pours a brilliant orange, think sun-setting orange. Head is an off-white color that leaves a pretty good lacing. Smell is hoppy, but not the typical piney/resiny hops you normally find in a double IPA, this has a more floral smell to it. There are a bit of citrus-like hops hidden in there as well. In the taste I found a bit of caramel from the malt, but the hops lead the way throughout this beer. The hops are a nice mixture of floral and citrus flavors. Medium bodied and a decent amount of carbonation. Really drinkable, as this seems to be a more tame version of a double IPA. This doesn’t necessarily fit the "Unplugged" label, but it’s still a damn good beer.

Golden, orange colour with a white head. Light caramel sweet aroma with hoppy fruity and pine bitter notes. Sweet malty flavor with fruity and hoppy notes. Light dry and bitter finish.
