opaque dark brown, fine tan head, lots of drippy lace, smoked bacon and chocolate aroma, rich dark chocolate flavor, lots of smoked character, touch of sweetness from dark caramel malts, light earthy hops balance the caramel sweetness and meld with the smokeyness, light lingering bitter finish rises out of the smoke and dark bitter chocolate,

Bottle: Pours a semi-transparent dark mahogany with a frothy, wispy-lacing light tan head. Aroma has some nice earthy, dry smoky notes and roasted maltiness. Body starts lightly sweet and smoky with some roasty coffee notes and dark chocolate malts. Nicely-balanced and quite drinkable while maintaining pleasant complexity throughout.

12oz bottle. Poured a deep and dark brown color with an off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, toffee and smoke (not over powering). Tastes of chocoalte, smoke roast, vanilla, and coffee.

Bottle... This beer rocks!... Clear, almost black beer with a small, creamy, khaki head. When held up to very bright light, a crimson halo appears around the edges of my glass. Simply a chocolate and smoked meat aroma. Sweet, smoky flavor doesn’t become cloying, but tiptoes around it. Nice bitterness, but there’s not enough of it. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with pillow-soft carbonation. Lengthy, smoky-sweet, and then minerally, bitter finish. Kudos to pepsican for shipping the bottle my way!
