A hazy orange beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet malty and slightly smoked. The flavor is sweet smoked with some bacon notes, on a malty background, and with a slightly dry and alcoholic end.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Hazy, amber golden with floating impurities and a small, off-white head. Rather neutral aroma with a whiff of smoke. Surprisingly light-bodied (would never have guessed this to be 12% ABV) with vague, smoky accents. Neither interesting nor very pleasant. 270106

Golden to light amber color, hazy. Light smokey aroma, sausages? Malty, full body, medium smokey taste; luckly the smokey character is supported by a sweet malty body. Good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 argo0 (10388) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 2, 2006
(12oz bottle, thanks Barry) Particle-filled cloudy amber body topped by a medium beige head. Aroma is moderately sweet, bubblegum, some clove, caramel, light lemon. Taste is moderately sweet, bubblegum, peach/apricot, light banana, clove. Creamy medium body, had no clue about the ABV until I saw it here -- a little alcohol is noticeable, but for the most part it is very well hidden. Nice beer, but does not seem to be what the brewer intended. The Weiss yeast dominates -- I could not detect any smoke qualities. Also, the sweetness induced some palate fatigue by the end of the bottle.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 madsberg (8819) - Søborg, DENMARK - JAN 29, 2006
Bottled: Golden coloured. Unclear. Light beige head. aroma of smoke, fruity, spiced and a tad caramelly. Flavour has a balanced smokyness. Very delicious. Sweet and herbal. Is spiced, but the smokyness imo is very impressing. Perfectly matches the other flavours. Is smoky, roasted and light bitter in the end. One of the better smoked beers I’ve experienced.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Tmoney99 (8789) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 9, 2010
Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured clear copper color with an average light brown frothy head that was mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate smoke malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium sweet smoke flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. This older bottle did not meet my expectations.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hopdog (7658) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 18, 2005
12oz bottle acquired in trade with (thanks!). Poured a medium and cloudy amber color with a smaller sized white head. Some small floaters. Aromas of smoke, rye, yeast, and some bananas. Tastes of smoke, bananas and a little bready. I like the way the smoke was done in this beer – it wasn’t overpowering and complimented the other aromas and tastes.
