Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Deep red pour with a single finger head. Aroma is full of sour cherries, almost pie like too. Medium bodied. Sour cherries, almost spicy like cinnamon. Sweet and tart all at the same time. The fruit is just so vibrant, it makes me wonder how they make this happen. Reminds me of eating sour cherries. Fruit character is through the roof. A little lace present. World class beer here.

Bottle shared with friends. Pours blood red with a nice white head. Huge cherry/sweet nose that hits you before your glass is front of you. Taste is wildly cherry and sweet-think a wonderful cough syrup you can’t get enough of. Supremely drinkable.

Bomber sized bottle. Nice burgundy dark pour. Really nice ripe cherry aroma. Taste is amazing, slightly tart, great finish. Best fruit beers in the world, thanks New Glarus!

Large shared bottle. Given that this is a fruit beer, it really couldn’t taste any better. The feel too is about perfect. Aroma: cherry dominated. Appealing but a bit too much cherry candy in the nose.

Appearance: Dark ruby red with small off-white head; Taste: Strong/tart cherry with a wine/tannin finish. Mouth/Feel: Med/Light Body, Clean. Nice brew that when in WI I always have to pick up a bottle or two. Overall: 3.9 out of 5

Bottle in a trade. Pours a plum red with a faint pink head. Aromas of cherries, cherry pie, and oak, almost a faint cinnamon. Flavors of tart cherries, hard cherry candy, cherry tart pastry, oaky tannin finish. Sharp, highly carbonated, acidic mouthfeel. Very sweet and tart. Great beer.

Got in a trade: thanks RRC87! My first winter shipment so I had to have a cold one right out of the box. Split with my wife. A. Pours a hazy deep red with brown and burnt orange highlights. A small off-white head rises up ever so slightly and leaves night trails of residual lacing down the glass. S. Tart cherry with vanilla, a touch of oak, and a bit of medicinal character. T. Tart cherries with some oaky wood character. These give way to a bit more sweetness with some vanilla and a touch of lemon juice. Ends fairly dry with just a touch of residual tartness. M. On the light side of medium bodied with a medium level of carbonation that helps pick up the residual flavors on swallow. D. Incredibly drinkable - I wasn’t a big fan of the raspberry tart so I got these for my wife not expecting to like them too much. It looks like I’ll be trading for some more of these in the near future.

Pours a dark red hue with a thick head. A decent lacing is left afterwards. Smells of cherries, malt, and wheat. The taste is not too strong but somewhat bitter. The cherry is not too overpowering and the malt and wheat provide a nice backdrop. This is probably one of the finest beers I have tried to date. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours ugly and cloudy murky red with light off-white head. Aroma is packed with cherries, candy, dry, dusty and light earthy. Really fruity candy and light hay. Got a lot of marzipan. Taste is fruit bomb, candy, cherries, vanilla, marzipan, sweet and light acidic. Winegum! Light dusty background. Creamy body, light dry finish. Ful body for style and ABV. I dig this.
