Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

In the bottle. Very nice color, just screams cherry. Sweet and smooth, very drinkable. Could have finished the bottle by myself, but had to share it with four others, maybe the next bottle. Lives up to the hype.

[Bottle] shared by EddyB23. Pours a caramel/red with a fine whitish head. Aroma is huge cherries, ludens, and a little bit of tartness. Flavor is extremely rich. lots of cherries, a nice acidity, and perfect carbonation.

Deep yet bright ruby in color with thin lacing when swirled. The nose shows off an abundance of rotting cherries. This continued into a medium-bodied palate with lots of carbonation and crispness. While simple this is very well-balanced, refreshing and enjoyable.

Finally, I have tried this beer. It’s one of those that I run across all the time, it was worth every penny. Pours a brandy-reddish colour with a wonderful fruity nose. Packed with lots of carbonation and a pound of cherries, it has a super wicked fruity tart cherry taste in each sip. A highly carbonated mouthfeel that feels a little chewy at times. And the head is like one of a Lambrusco, with a soft foamy top that slowly dissapears. Mighty fine brew.

750 ml bottle shared with The Beer Cellar. Pours a murky reddish brown with a small to average size head. Aroma of tart sour cherries that is rather subdued and hides the great cherry flavor to come. Flavor on this one is just fantastic, sweet and tart that is not overpowering but super refreshing and makes you want another sip as soon as you put your glass down. This is something I will continue to seek out.

WOW! If you have the fortune to be able to get your hand on this beer, GET IT! This is one of the best liquids I have ever drank. It pours a redish brown color with a slight hint of carbonation. It has the aroma of sweet fresh cherries. Wonderful. The flavor...you guessed it cherries. It literally tastes like you have fresh cherries in your mouth. outstanding! Overall, this is tops in my book! Worth seeking out if you haven’t had it!

Big 20 beer tasting at Three Cellars Milwaukee. I found this disappointing. I have yet to be impressed with a New Glarus brew. This isn’t bad mind you, sweet and spicy. I can imagine it on a winter night with pie or cobbler. Or now maybe with ice cream. Too strong for me. I can easilr see how if one is a fan of this type this one may be right up your alley.

This beer is somewhat of an enigma for me. First of all, the older it gets, the sweeter it gets. Not sure how thats possible....anyway, this beer is sweet as hell, which is a bit of a disappoitment given this beer smells and looks incredible. If it were a bit more sour, I would rate it a litlle higher, but its just too damn sweet =(
