(thx to papsoe) Red, almost clear brew with a slightly artificial-feeling cherry nose, followed by almond and sugar. Marzipan, cherry and sugar in the flavor. Full, sticky mouthfeel. Astringent, citric finish with cherry. Too sweet, almondy and artificial-feeling. Unbalanced on the sweet side. Ok, so it’s a nice beer, but I can’t understand why it has so high ratings. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 25, 2007 Wow, what a brew. Starts with popping the top and getting hit in the face with the aroma, awesome. Cherries, cherries, cherries. Smell, taste, everywhere. Full bodied, and easy to drink.
THanks a bunch TT. tarsparky (12), Flint, Michigan, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 23, 2007 Bottle purchased in Madison, WI. Are you sure this is beer? Pours a light reddish-brown, with a medium head that dissipates quickly. Very sour, and very, very cherry. The taste reminds me of real cherry pie - not pie filled with that crap you can buy in a can! It’s sweet on the lips, and it makes your mouth pucker. I could drink several of these in one sitting! Sweet sour and just a hint of hops in the finish. May have bought 6 more bottles. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 21, 2007 Pours deep red with a thin off-white head. Very sweet aroma of cherries. Taste is very tart with strong cherry presence. Very hard to drink much of this because of the sweetness. Papsoe (14886), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 20, 2007 Updated: Mar 31, 2009(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a hazy, reddish with an off-white head. Distinct aroma of sweet cherries and marzipan. Medium body with rich, sweet cherries - thick and almost like cherry sauce. Extremely fruity but definitely needs something to balance the extreme sweetness. Not a bad fruit beer at all, but I simply don’t understand the high ratings on this one. So many much better New Glarus beers around. 100507 BustedFlat (553), Edina, Minnesota, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 18, 2007 25 ounce bottle. Flute. Reddish brown with a medium tan head. Aroma was all cherry pie. Taste was tart, sweet cherries. Well carbonated with some sour notes coming in as it warms. I definitely don’t think of beer when I drink this. It tastes more like cherry pie and ice cream, but wonderful none the less.

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 12, 2007 Pours muddy brown in color with hints of red and orange. Very murky and opaque. Mmm, smells like a freshly baked cherry pie. Damn, I can almost smell the crust too. Sweet cherry jam and lemon/green apple tartness aromas in there too. Taste is like a sweet cherry-apple cider with a tart finish. Effervescent-tingling on the tongue, carbonated like a sparkling wine. High points for uniqueness and although I couldn’t drink many of these back to back for the fruitiness, this beer is quite the experience and and an incredible fruit beer.
