4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Original review date 5/3/2008...from 750 into Riedel Extreme Burgundy/Pinot Noir glass.
Pours dark cider/caramel color with ample natural cherry hue. Carbonation cloys to bowl of glass; head very thin.
Perfumy, natural cherry essence brings the dominant scent here - slight tangy yeast and malt. Just enough citrus funk.
This is a treat - understated yet plentiful carbonation delivers a powerful cherry and natural sugar hammer with powerful force. Slight saltiness from carbonation. Nice backbone of yeast, slight citrus and braised malt.
This delivers much more of a hearty yet mellow (almost boiled? not a bad thing) mouthfeel. A slight salty tinge from the carbonation hits the back of the mouth with little aftertaste from a long and deep finish. Almost as if there’s a significant tannin profile from the cherry skins as would be expected in wine. Gets stronger and more enjoyable with warmth.
This is a pleasure to savor but drinks much easier than other offerings crafted at this level of excellence. Great stuff.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Wow. Beautiful red color. Highly carbonated, smells and tastes just like cherry pie- seriously. it really does. It’s like the best cherry soda you ever tasted with an alcohol content to boot.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Medium body and carbonation, full of cherries and lightly sweet malts. Very berry fruity flavor with some mild tartness.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a beautiful red with a very thin beige head. Aroma is completely dominated by cherries. The taste is again dominated by cherries, but you also get a sweet kick that combines into one fantastic brew. Very drinkable beer and probably the best fruit beer out there. This is one that I could drink over and over again!

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Deep red in color yet still brite. Froathy red head, just the way I like em. The aroma is like a fresh cherry pie. I can almost smell the crust. The flavor seems to have a cinnamon like character that takes away from the sweetness of the cherries and adds to the pleasure of the malt. Sour tart and dry in the finish. A true delite.

Hook it up to my veins!
Quite possibly one of my favorite beers of all time, the tart balance with a slightly sweet twinge at the end makes this an absolutely irresistible aperatif.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a hazy reddish amber color, with a very light pink head. Light lacing that doesn’t last long. Has a very tart cherry flavor. Leaves my lips smacking after every sip. Very good beer.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured into a tulip glass. It is a beautiful sight to behold in the glass. It’s really red, but light shines through and it is pretty clear. Aroma of both sweet and tart cranberries with a bit of sourness. The taste is complex and delicious. This beer is a real treat if you can get your hands on it!

75cl Bottle at home. I had been really looking forward to this beer for some time as im a huge fan of cherry beers. The pour was very deep red and produced a 1cm head that did not hang around. The aroma was upfront cherry and almond with a strong medicinal quality. As the aroma had hinted to me the taste was a huge let down. Way too sweet and medicinal. This is even sweeter than a Liefmans Kriek! It lacks complexity and does not have you wanting another sip due to its cloying oily palate. I was really dissapointed by this and im not quite sure how they managed to produce a false cherry flavour from real cherrys....

Man, i just love this beer. Deep cherry fruit on the nose. Deep red color with a foamy white head. Flavor just screams I am a great cherry.
