Pours a deep red with a pink fizzy head. Intense cherry aroma, with a hint of maltiness. Flavor is all cherry. Seemingly very tart at first and then smoothing out. I love cherries, so this is a fantastic fruit brew. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Deep red colour with a thin frothy white head. Deep sweet and sour cherry pie aroma, crust included! Cherry, cherry, and more cherry, both sweet and sour, slight yeasty and pie crust flavours. Decadent rich and almost creamy mouthfeel. Very nice. Top beer of my Montreal trip. Many thanks to CaptainCougar for this treat! redlem (1155), Illinois, USA
| 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Feb 15, 2003 Updated: Mar 13, 2009This is the beer you get for Valentines day for your worse-half so you do not have to drink champaign. However when you pour this in a wine glass it has the hazy red color of the juice from a cherry pie that has spread onto the pie plate to cover where the missing pieces of pie were. There is very little head, but what head there is, is fizzy. The taste, oh the taste is like fresh tart sour cherry pie. This is not sweet cherry like cough drops or maraschino cherries or those horrid chocolate covered cherries. This is lip puckering, lip smacking, tongue wagging sour cherries. Not a session ale, but for those special occasions. alexsdad06 (1152), Ohio, USA

The aroma quickly transports you into a cherry orchard on a perfect summer morning. pours slightly cloudy red with a thin head. Flavor is cherry of all varieties; sweet, sour, etc., but also includes the other characteristics found in good belgian ales. This was a very balanced beer. My Christmas present came early when I discovered a family member who travels to Wisconsin on a regular basis. We now have a standing order. piscator34 (1139), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 20, 2006 Bottle sampled with rudge75. and mnurda. Dark red in colour with hints of brown. Low to medium carbonation. Huge sweet cherry aroma with additional notes of vanilla, and some pale barley malt. Very large in the mouth with the cherries obviously taking centre stage, along with a bit of other red berry fruit. As sweet as it is, there are more dimensions than sweet fruit to this beer, with notes of vanilla and earth. It’s smooth on the palate, yet there’s enough earthy bitterness to keep things in check. Not something you could knock back a lot of, but this is one heck of a dessert beer. matta (1139), Tampa, Florida, USA

Well smack my ass and call me Sally, this was one of the most delicious dessert beers I have ever had, and my girlfriend says Belgian Red it is now her Favorite beer of all time, but the single 750ml bottle was not enough for her.
Pours with a pale and foggy mahogany and crimson body, then amassing a frothy cloud with a sailors red sky delight behind it. - The aroma is so enticingly delicious that it is almost discussing. Jars of syrupy Maraschino Cherry’s and cinnamon fill the aroma. The use of a caramel malt brings it’s likeness as well as notes of vanilla to the sautéed to caramelized cherries. This beer has the most amazing tart bitter / sweet flavor, and woody oak company make this very much a Flemish Sour, but more of a syrupy sweetness here of a fruit beer. Spices to know end .. cinnamon …clove, sage, and some apple blossoms. Notes of apple ring out beside the cherries, as well as a yeasty, and toasty beady crust similarity. A light, sticky effervescence adjacent to the fresh tart country cheery pie make this a welcome treat for most any special occasion!
I believe it would be a sin to neglect giving a beer of this caliber world class scores- Truly a Delicacy! bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 27, 2008 Bottle courtesy of theisti. Pours a cloudy pinkish-brown with a loose, frothy, pink head. The nose is amazing: Grandma’s cherry pie; not just pie filling but the whole shebang: tart cherries, gooey pie filling, and sugar-coated crust. Very nice. Light to medium-bodied and slick with a dry, tart finish. The flavor is of sweet, tart, round sour cherries and a light, dry woodiness. This is a damned fine beer. Thanks again for bringing this back for me, Tim! Don wishes to extend his thanks as well; he said that he thinks he’s in love. ;)
