Understandable that this beer’s won tons of awards. Starts with a slightly sour cherry taste, finishes with a lingering aftertaste with slight hints of chocolate. Bright red in color with near constant bubbling and a strong cherry aroma. Tastes great, looks great - a truly impressive beer.

More intense cherries, initially sweet, then turning slightly sour and bitter, some citrus fruits, lemon, creamy texture, soft to medium carbonation. Nice Fruit Beer, very nice cherries. Keg at the brewery, New Glarus.

Ruby red beer, from a bomber bought at a Wisconsin convenience store while passing through the state. Sour fruit aroma and an intensely sweet cherry taste. Exquisite tart finish.

Pours a deep rich mahogany-like purple. Almost a plum color. The cherry aroma emanates. It tastes like cherries, but with enough tartness to balance some of the sweetness. It is very sweet though. A very good dessert beer, but not sure I’d like this if it opened my night.

Dark, red moscato red. Sugary head with nice lace. Aroma is a nice vivid cherry, as it warms and swirling it, you get a breadyness that is like cherry pie. Has some mineral to it. Taste up front is sweet cherry, foamy body with cherry dominating taste. Finishes with a tapering light tartness to clean up its medium sweetness. Real nice. The Belgian in this is really clean, didn’t get much other character and couldn’t detect hallertau hops much but maybe they just enhance it. The oak is what maybe enhancing the cherry taste with a vanilla or possibly a coconut character with it. Also a hint of woodiness in aroma and mellow dry woodiness in taste.

One of the great classics of the American craft beer revolution, gift from Ster who brought it all the way from Wisconsin for me, which I am very grateful for; shared with her and other people at Belgium Chimipalooza. Thick, creamy, off-pinkish head over a hazy, deep cherry-red beer with beautiful ruby glow. Aroma of sweet cherry candy and cherry jam, candied lemon, caramel, lime zest, vanilla, grape peel, ripe blackberry, stewed apple, fruit pie. Sweet, initially almost candyish but still not cloying cherry flavour, very rich like a cherry pie and cherry jam, residual sugars, soft bready wheat base, thin but effective lemony sourish ’sting’ peeping up in the middle and lasting till the end, balancing the cherry pie sweetness; spritzy body, sweet and sourish finish, full and not too sticky. Totally different from what I had expected, even reminded me a bit of Lindemans Kriek at a certain moment, but altogether very different from the sweetened cherry lambics at the same time, more bready, more ’moelleux’ and - most importantly - much more genuinely fruit-like. Very interesting and unique, too bad this isn’t more easily available outside of Wisconsin.

Rating #2200. 750 ml wax-dipped bottle thanks to Homer’s FBW contest. Aroma is cherries bordering on overripe, flesh and almondy pits. Pours a muddy rust color with a collapsing beige head that falls into a big-bubbly ring; a little lace left behind. Taste is fairly tart, sweet, finishing lightly dry. Tastes like cherry pie filling, with spices (cinnamon) and all, although I don’t think those ingredients are actually in the beer. Really tasty, but I liked the Raspberry Tart a lot more, even though this is rated higher on the site. This one is a little too sweet maybe. Still a phenomenal fruit beer, however.
