Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely ďWisconsin.Ē So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Pours a reddish brown with a large lasting head. Very carbonated apparently. Aroma is of boysenberry soda/wine cooler, a little dusty, slightly creamy. Flavor is very creamy, with huge cherry flavor, a little malt. No, this isnít a wine cooler; that is apparent now. Like raspberry-vanilla sherbet meets pale ale. One of the most unique things Iíve ever tasted. Very sweet, note. Medium viscosity and carbonation. Overall, very good minus.

Bottle thanks to Stfun! I was very excited to try this and had pretty high hopes. Pours a reddish light brown with tan head, decent retention and lacing. Aroma slaps you in the face with cherries, tart and dried, and you really need to dig to find some toasted malt and some spices. Flavor is almost overwhelming of cherries, sweetness, and sourness. I tasted this next to Founders Cerise and honestly had difficulty differentiating between the two. This is definitely not my type of beer. It tasted like I was drinking some cherry wine and not a beer. I wanted beer with some nice strong hints of cherry. It didnít deliver.

Pours reddish purple/pink with a pink head. The aroma is super fruity with mostly cherries, cranberries and such. The flavor is full on canned cherry pie filling. Sweet and sour with maybe a touch of oak. Very full bodied, almost syrupy. This would go well with certain meals, but I guess I just donít get this beer. Definitely unique.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2009 Bottle from Cavie. Pours a pretty Kool-Aid red with a slightly pink head. Smells like a Hallís sore throat candy with a Fruit Roll-up. Oh, shit. Itís way too tart. The cherry is extremely strong. Itís great, but holy hell, itís making my stomach rumble.

Bottle from trade. Poured a cloudy red with a smallish off-white head. Nose is really fruity, cherry, apple, sweet malt, not really "beerish". Taste is similar, with plenty of tartness that gives just enough tartness to make it interesting. Really too sweet for me. Mouth is highly carbonated, which helps cut the sticky sweetness. Overall, an okay brew.

pours deep brown and very cloudy with a thick foamy head that dissapates quickly. Strong cherry aroma. With a slight waxy smell. Flavour is very nice. Lots of cherry. Sweet in the start and very tart in the finish. Very thick mouth feel. A very nice kreik.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2011 I kinda enjoyed this... uh... "beer," but I have no idea how to rate it or what the hell I would do with a bottle if I had one. That said, I would enjoy another small taste to give it a fairer shake. This beer was quite sweet and tasted like concentrated cherry pie filling. Good cherry pie filling, though, and no artificial fruit flavor. That said, thereís a strong cough syrup flavor in there, too. The feel is less sticky than the taste would suggest, but it was still a bit much, at least coming to the beer without any foreknowledge. Little to no oak was evident. This is a beer that I might enjoy a lot more in specific circumstances, like as a compliment to a fancy dessert, but I canít say that I loved it on its own. It definitely gets an entry in my list of beers to revisit.

Hazy ruby pour with a thick creamy khaki head with a hint of pink. Strong sweet cherry aroma. Difficult to detect anything else. Very strong flavor of sweet cherry juice with a tart mouth puckering finish. Creamy small bubble high carbonation level. Very intense ... definitely something you need to be ready for. Iím not a huge fan of fruit beer but I can certainly appreciate this one and see why it a consistent winner.

Pours a rich muddled ruby color with a finger or two of off white foam. Aromas are sweet cherry pie, touch of malt. On the palate this beer is sweet. Great cherry flavor with hints of toasted malts in the finish but its hard to get over the sweetness. Its not bad in fact I enjoyed the first 6-8ozís tremendously as the cherry varietal is delicious but after that I just wanted to pour it over some ice cream like a framboise
