Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

&50 2008 vintage (1 year old). Great fruitty cherry profile on the nose. A bit of a muddy red pour (even when yeast was settled). Sweet with just a slight bit of tartness -- a bit bitter due to the hops. A bit out of balanced with the bittersweatness. The hops are n attempt to rebound the sweetness. Just a bit too sweet. MEdium body with perfect carbonation. Overall: too sweet to take down a whole 750, glad I shared this one. I can;t imagine drinking more than 6 ounces of this as a dessert beer. If you want to know a summary of this beer: your kid couldn’t tell the difference between this and his/her juice box.

Pours a dark mahogany with a small head. Immediate aroma reminded me of Cherry cough syrup. After a bit the tanginess disappeared and it smells more like grandma’s cherry pie. Tastes very much like sour cherry pie flavor with a sweet finish.

On tap! Pours mahogany ruby red with no head. Aroma is candy like cherry, wild honey, gummi bears, vanilla, a weak tartness and some wilder notes way behind. A bit one sided, but pretty good. Taste is candy sweetness, red gummi bears, woody dryness, vanilla, concentrated cherry juice, light tartness and some spice.

Surprised I didn’t like this better, considering I love cherries and have no aversion to fruit beers. Too sweet and not enough tart, perhaps.

Bottle - Sweet maraschino cherries. Cloudy red/brown with a decent white head. Lots of sweet cherry, but has something odd later that cuts the cloying sweetness a little. Sweet and nice but a dessert beer for sure.

Complex and flavourful, a well-balanced fruit beer with an explosive fruit character. I guess if anything it could use a touch more dark malt.

Nice woody, cherry aroma. Lovely red color. Small, thick, creamy head adds to mouthfeel. Nice balance of sweet and sour cherry flavor, nicely thirst quenching. Enjoyable but too much cherry and not enough beer.

interesting bright red color, sweet instead of sour cherry aroma, no sediment, nutmeg, woodyness, medium carbonation and light medium body, would this be good mulled?
