COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Originally 5.1% - abv reduced to 4% sometime between 2009 and 2011.
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Pours a dark cherrywood color with an off white, bubbly head. Taste is dead on, exceptional, pulpy cherry flavor without the aftertaste of a cough syrupy mess. Full and hearty sweetness, slight sourness, makes this first-rate. My girlfriends who don’t like beer would like this beer. I’d pair it with a bread pudding amongst a drizzling of dried cranberries.

Waxed top bottle pours pinkish red. Aroma of cherries. Sweet, moderately tart and of course loads of cherry flavor. Sparkling and light. Spectacular! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750ml bottle from Jeffs in West Bend during the initial cherry scare, and cellared for 2 years - shared with K&K. Great reddish orangey brown color. Very clean, tart, cherry, lightly other fruit meld. No noticeable aging. Smoother than smooth. 15.3

Bottle: Dark ruby, blushing cherry color with an off-white chunky foam that seems to either have a slight tint of lavender to it, or the red beer below is playing tricks on me. Straight up cherry aroma. Lightly tart, mostly sweet, almost like a cherry pie filling that needs just another half cup of sugar. Small underscore of brown sugar & grain. Flavor is the same way, just a huge orgy of cherries hammer fucking every single nook & cranny in your oral orifice. Lightly tart & acidic up front & in the finish with a long, drawn out sweetness that bridges the gap in between. The somewhat abrupt, zesty finish ensures that the sweetness of the beer doesn’t wear you down too quickly. While I prefer Raspberry Tart (only because I enjoy raspberries more than cherries, really), this is a beyond solid staple in New Glarus’s huge portfolio of awesome fruit beers.

Pours clear reddish amber with a thick and fine-bubbled buff head. Aroma has a strong overtone of fresh cherries. Sweet and sour cherry dominates the flavor but lets through peeps of malt and wood. Firm texture has lively fizz and leaves a nice cherry finish. Cheers for cherries!

Colour is burgundy red and it pours with a pink thick-set head that stays. Aroma is cherries and hay? Taste is cough drops (in a good way) then tart cherry and a sweet semi-dry finish. The flavour lingers around on the palate for a while, teasing your brain.

Bottle share at Cotteridge Wines. Thanks to Leighton. Cloudy red / brown, small ring of white head. Aroma is cherries, berries, plasticine and jam. Body is medium, slightly foamy, medium carbonation. Taste is juicy fruits, soft malt backbone, jammy sweet, dark cherry compote. For me this was the best beer on the day - complex yet very drinkable.
