4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from roadside BP station in Mauston, WI. Pours golden with thin head, some lacing. Nose has noble hops and rich and bready yeast and some fresh barley grain notes. Flavor is memorable - first sip seems simple and is really quite refreshing, but this understated beer is fully of subtle flavors resulting from a brewer who has mastered the art. Some light caramel and toast upfront, complex earthiness and minerals developing in the background, creamy texture, and a wonderfully fresh yet light hop bite on the finish. This is all I want to drink this summer - extremely well-crafted, it would be hard to find a simple lager that equals this in the U.S. and really anywhere in the world.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Mild aroma of sweet malt and some citrus notes. Pours a deep yellow, with a full tan head. Nice, rich sweet malt up front. Caramel and sweet and smooth, followed by a nice bitterness. Mouthfeel is prickly with nice carbonation. Finish is smooth. Very pilsner like. Solid.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma is bread, German hops and a hint of earthiness. The flavor is citrus, malts, grainy notes, a very slight hint of hop resin and a dry and mildly bitter/tangy finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Yeeeeeeesssss! - I’ve been waiting for years for New Glarus to start making this beer again - dark gold with a very light haze - creamy lace - nose of crusty bread, floral hops, light bitterness, mild mineral, a touch of honey - creamy texture, moderate, frothy carbonation - light acidic tanginess up front - moderate, clean malty sweetness follows - middle and finish has some bready character, followed by some grassy, lightly floral, lightly bitter hops - sadly, there is also slight buttery diacetyl and some notes of corn that really lessen the enjoyment - dang - I’ve been waiting so long for this and it really falls short of expectations - there’s much more good than bad, but the mild off notes make me sad.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
355ml bottle. Can’t believe I am finally drinking this. Passed over it many times because I didn’t realize it wasn’t a full-time beer originally. Super deep golden pour with a nice cremay white head and not too hazy. The smell is heavy bread and breadcrust, nice lemony/fruit/lemon balmy underlying. The flavor is rich and bready, though it is effervescent and zippy. Tart hops up front with waves of pretzel, then shortcake malts, hint of vanilla. It has some mineral and very light diacetyl making it an enormous success.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Drank a 6pack to the head last summer to see what all the hype was about. This beer is really hit or miss. So many "determining factors," I could even count my mood at the time as one. When cold and fresh, it’s one of the better made kellers on the market.
