Pours golden with a small, foamy white head. Aroma of grass, wheat, and yeast. The flavor is light, yeast, and a little bit of hops. Light body with a dry finish, a very good lager.

aroma is very light yeast and some grainy malt. appearance is expected hazy sunshine. flavor is relatively clean malt bill, mostly sweetness, not exactly balanced. unfortunately no real yeast character in the flavor. palate is steaming wet. certainly drinkable but quite dull.

First nose from the 12 oz bottle is yeast. Pours a fat, thick head floating on a dense and hazy yellow-orange glass of beer. This has a quick lager bite that offers a bit denser mouth feel than most and it does run a smooth, dry finish. Grain and yeast dominate through the middle of this mouthful and I am not as resistant to this beer as many of its style. I’d drink a glass of this on a summer afternoon but wouldn’t travel very far out of my way to get one.

Enjoyed in bottle form, very similar to Surly’s "Hell" Lager from this past year. The yeast aftertaste is very apparent, and while it’s light it has a very nice, smooth aftertaste. It’s smooth and not crisp, which is what I typically anticipate from the more mainstream lagers. If Old Style tasted more like this, I would drink it more often. Too bad I don’t live in WI and can’t purchase this often.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Jabswitch (278) - Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 11, 2009
This is a "beer" as opposed to an ale. Not a substantial improvement over some of the mass brewed lagers. However this is smoother with a bitter finish and no substantial aftertaste.

Pours a dark golden color with a small, foamy white head that fades quickly to a sudsy wash. The aroma shows some sweet cereal grains, florap hops, crisp wheat, and some bready yeast. The flavor follows with nice balance between the floral hops, cereal grains, and bready yeast. Medium to light on the body with balanced carbonation with a crisp, dry finish. Really nice tasting session lager.

Bottle, courtesy juiceisloose. Pours a hazy, medium-dark golden hue with a small, fading head of off-white foam. A soapy wash quickly falls down the glass, no lacing remaining behind. The nose shows sweet, honey kissed cereal grain and golden wheat, with a very bready, yeasty overtone and fresh, perfumy floral hop notes. Flavors follow suit, nicely balanced between the honeyed grains, baked yeast rolls, and spicy floral hops. Medium-light bodied and moderately carbonated, the palate maitains the same balanced consistency, finishing peppery and zesty. Good stuff. If anyone in America could capture the essence of German session lager, I knew it would be Daniel Carey.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 MoDog (927) - Griffith, Indiana, USA - NOV 7, 2009
12oz bottle served in a shaker. Hazy straw golden pour with a one-finger thick head of off-white foam that lingered around for a bit. Slick lacing. The aroma was very bready with some hay and grass. Also some sweet pale malt. The flavor had fresh bread, grass, mineral water, and a hint of faint citrus at the end. Clean and subtle, also a bit rustic. Medium-bodied with crisp, refreshing carbonation. I would have this on hand regularly if it was available in my area.
