Pours red with a billowy tan head. Wonderful aromas of funk, black pepper, orange zest, burlap, hay, and wood. Flavor is incredibly smooth, initial malty warmth smoothly becomes progressively sour as wood esthers, dark fruit, burlap, soil, and common wood sorrell (sour clover), with a going-away cheese-like funk and a sweet tart moment, leading to a grassy finish. The most interesting aspect is how it transitions slowly and smoothly into each moment on the palate, with no abruptness between profiles. Incredible.

Pours dark mahogany-tinged brown into a tulip. Off-white head with little retention recedes to mottle surface. Blueberry and oak aromas. Dry with sour blueberry and oak upfront turning to bitter blueberry seed in the medium length finish.

Pours a dark tea colour. Aromas of oak, cherry, vanilla, red wine. Very fragrant. Really nice flavours. Sour cherry, bitter oak, red wine, a bit of burnt sugar. Quite delicious.

Poured a deep purple color with aromas of wet oak, light blueberries, and some tartness. Flavors match the aromas not jaw shocking sour or tart but enough I say hello with some nice tart blueberry presence. 2015 bottle.

Sample @ EBF. Pours a light copper with a thin white head that leaves fair lacing. Nose is of berries, lightly sweet and generally fruity. Taste is nicely tart, not too intense and lightly sweet even. Fruity and lightly winey/oaky. Both body and carbonation were moderate. Overall a pretty good option, I’d get that again!

sample @ EBF 2015. almost clear dark golden pour, mahogany tint, with a very nice light beige head offering good retention and lacing. wood-forward ale - tannic and astringent, citric acidity - from blueberries i guess - linear but at a good ph; caramel and toffee maltiness, few danky fruitiness, pepper. light carboantion, light body - oily, tart and pleasantly fruity-grassy finish. not very complex but it’s a nice barrel-driven fruit sour.

On tap at Hops and Pie poured a clear reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of caramel, citrus, light cherry and light horse blanket. Palate was light bodiued and crisp with a dry tart finish. Flavors of straw, cherry, citrus and light barnyard funk with a crisp dry tart lingering citrus finish.

Poured from 22oz. bottle, a dark amber with ruby highlights. Low off white head that fades quickly. Nose is that of apples, sour cherries, with some floral notes. Mouth feel is thick and oily. Taste is tart up front then smoothes out with some sweet grape notes.

translucent chestnut, large bubbled white ring. Sugary sour cherry nose, lightly dusty with considerable sweetness. Front is thin, juicy cherry, low sourness until mid when citric acid tingles the jaw, thin and sticky in the bright finish, singular but buoyed by zesty carbonation. Way sweet finish, red apple sweetness with tart skin.
