3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Whole Foods Glen Allen, VA. Pours a hazy amber color with a large creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of tart fruits and a mild bit of funk. The taste is tart fruits, earth, mild funk. Medium bodied, and the finish falls flat.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, shared by a kind soul in a location remote to my dining room.
The beer pours a very purple color with a small but well retained head and good lacing on the glass.
The aroma is a bit of balsamic vinegar, some oak, and a bunch of tart berries.
The flavor is very tart with a nice blueberry character though out . Itís sour, and oaky and the acetic character is pretty well controlled. The beer is largely dry with a very low level of bitterness.
A nice one, one that Iím going to look forward to trying year after year these beers get distributed in our market once New Holland heads our way.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This rating is based on a 2014 bottle. Poured into snifter. Pours a brown with hints of red sparkling underneath. Head is white and two fingers and leaves quite a bit of lacing. Aroma - a touch of oak, tart/sour berry, some sour apple, and funk. Taste - sour grape, cherry, touch of vanilla underneath and more funk. Well balanced between funk, tartness, and sweetness with the balance towards the first two (just the way I like it). This is excellent and Iím glad I have another one in the cellar.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap somewhere in Asheville. Slightly tart blueberry mash. Little else to the nose. Pretty syrupy and sugary. Some acidic fruit skin tang. Medium body, full on the palate. Decent stuff.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Rating #4500 (beer #2 of 3 to celebrate the milestone)
Blue Sunday #16, Vintage 2013
Deep hazy dark brown coloured body with a nice, one centimetre tall tan head that fades fast with a lighter brown glow at the bottom. Aroma of ridiculously sour grapes, lemon, cherries, oak, vanilla, cognac and cedar, alcohol, bourbon and a hint of grass - very nice, complex and mouth watering! Medium-bodied; Very nice mouthful of silky soft malt with a very nice layered sour flavour of cherries and grapes then showing a more refined sour flavour of lemon and oak mixed with bourbon, cognac and dry grass. Aftertaste shows an amazingly balanced sour with malt, alcohol, sugars and oak coupled with a high level of sour flavours, but masked by the dry complexity. Overall, a great beer overall and one that fits the style perfectly - layered, complex, balanced yet ridiculously complex and yes, still sour. A great beer and well worth finding and keeping for a while - iíll definitely keep a couple of these around if I can find them! I could have sampled some aged gueuze that Iíve brought back from Belgium over the years, but this was a great beer to encapsulate the milestone - a great beer of the style and to enjoy - from my hometown state of Michigan right here in the best beer country int he world - America. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 24-February-2013 for US$12.14 sampled at home in Washington on 27-April-2014, after only aging this for a bit over a year (not much for me) - but a great beer to have under the auspice of 4500 beers!

Pours a purplish brown with amazing amount of foam for a wild ale. Super tart and fruity. Sourness encapsulates the entire tongue and finishes wet.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - 2014 edition. Pours clear burgundy, quite beautiful actually, small tan head that dissipates quickly with some residual lacing. Aroma is oaky, vinous and fruity with tart cherry notes. Flavor is quite fruity up front, perhaps blueberry, oaky, starts lightly sweet but quickly dries out to a medium tartness. Finish is tart with light oaky astringency. Medium body. Nice beer, but I must say it is better before it warms up, oddly enough.
