3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Nephilium (1164) - Ohio, USA - AUG 4, 2010Aroma is very earthy and nutty, with a touch of ginger there if you really look for it. Pours a clear ruby red, with a thick white head. The honey is very noticeable, the ginger... not so much. This beer is very much on the sweet side of things, with just a bit of the spiciness in the finish. It’s a bit syrupy on the palate, but it doesn’t reach cloying levels of sweetness. An interesting beer, and one I may pick up just to try to pair up with a dessert course.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 superspak (1539) - Michigan, USA - JUN 8, 2013
22 ounce bottle into chalice, 2012 vintage. Pours fairly clear orange copper color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of pear, apple, lemon zest, honey, ginger, pepper, candi sugar, biscuit, floral, clove, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of malt, ginger, and yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, honey, ginger, pepper, biscuit, floral, candi sugar, light caramel, clove, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of light fruits, honey, ginger, biscuit, candi sugar, clove, light pepper, light caramel, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of fruity/spicy ester flavors with the malt, honey, and ginger; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a fairly creamy and slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good spiced Tripel. Very nice balance and complexity of malt, yeast ester, and spice flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Bomber. Copper color with medium head. Sweet honey upfront with a weirdly sour aftertaste.

Delicious with a truckload of honey and well-disguised alcohol, distinct but still noticeably classic.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 solidfunk (1919) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 19, 2013

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 maxwelldeux (2369) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - JAN 12, 2013
Bottle. Pours a crystal clear light amber color with a smallish white head. Nose is a little sweet with hints of honey and spice in there. Taste has a hint of sweetness, but is remarkably light and easy to drink. One of the best tripels I’ve ever had.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 5000 (5000) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JAN 5, 2013
Bottle:   Amber, moderate sudsy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Honeydew melon aroma, otherwise very bready.   Shrubby spices up front, malty, meatly, backside shows some of that honeydew melon.   Light ginger emerges as this beer warms.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Comes across as a little sticky, but thankfully not too much.   As far as American Tripels go, this one has a mountain shrub sort of spiciness, a bit earthy and alpine region like.   Interesting, albeit a bit average.

Tap. Amber with small head. Strong honey, mild ginger bite and extremely pleasant. Very good, unique flavor and complexity.
