This is what a black IPA/ Cascadian Dark Ale should be. Deep Brown, almost black color. A little head, not much. Aromas of deep caramel, burnt sugar, and earthy hops. Perfect balance in flavors, not too roasty to battle with the hops, slight bitterness from grains match perfectly with the hops in the finish. I could drink this all day. Balanced, complex. Had with Chipotle sausages and Avacados! Excellent

Bomber. Pours nicely black with ruby highlights and a tall, rocky khaki head that settles slowly and leaves some healthy lace. Nose initially presents ashy roastiness which gives way to a clean, earthy pine hop note. Pretty sweet flavorwise, and touch less bitter. Medium-full body, softer carb, creamy, with a toasty bitter finish. A solid brew, but not especially hop forward as one might hope. More toward a hoppier robust porter. Still tasty, though.

Bottle purchase/. Solid black IPA, not too bitter, not too effervescent. Will buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber. The nose is all hops. Very floral and grassy - aggressive hopping is evident. It pour solid black with a big tan head that fades quickly. The taste is roasty and very hoppy. Its a bit thin on the palette which is a bit of a let down. But overall its a pretty good black IPA.

This draft brew from a restaurant poured a small sized head of foamy tan colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a semi-transparent black colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The mild aroma was black malt and malt hop. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. The sharp flavor contained notes of black malt and hops. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

By far the best Black IPA I’ve ever tasted. I hate that I can’t find more of it. :) :)
