COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Since the early 1600's, the Dutch have attempted to breed a pure black tulip. Many have tried and a few have come close...but none have succeeded. Call it the Holy Grail of the tulip world. In honor of this elusive flower we have brewed this special elixir. We have combined the finest Belgian malt, rare European hops, an authentic Belgian yeast and finally, the brew is dusted with tulip petals. The resulting blend is nothing less than magical.

Thanks to TikkiGodxxx again...this was poured into my "how-fitting" Maudite Tulip glass Appearance: Murky Orange hue with a fair amount of body carbonation....and a very minimal white head...which quickly dwindles to a rim lacing and pond like fizzles but later leaves nice wall lacings Smell: hmm...strong yeasty champagne notes come first off....peppery hops....buttery malts....and floral phenols....quite potent Taste: Lets see....slurp slurp....hmmm....pretty nice stuff....it is maudite reminiscent as proc mentioned...bitter honey-suckle....already buttered belgian biscuits...bananas and cloves start to come forward as a few sips have already saturated my palate...pretty good compexity and balance.... Notes: a fine species...

Pours a deep golden, slight haze, with a healthy creamy off-white head that leaves some clingy thick lace. Nose involves spice and clove notes, sugar cane, some citrus and banana, and plenty of doughy yeast. Very sweet flavor, with a light bitterness and a dash of tartness. Medium-full body, fairly active, with a zesty peppery phenolic yeasty finish. A decent brew, somewhat refreshing for its size, but ultimately too sweet.

growler. clear dark gold with a small, creamy, white head. fruity (pineapple, red apple), cakey yeasty aroma. lots of appley fruity ester in the flavor. a very high level of phenols and acetaldehyde with red apple skin tones. some alcoholic astringency too. medium body with a slick mouthfeel. not my favorite here.

Rustic orange pour w/a thin white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is somewhat sweet. Taste is thick & rich. It’s pretty heavy but w/ good flavor. Very solid beer!

Taster on tap at Jackie-Os. Clear golden color. Thin white head. Decent rows of lace. Bigger body. Smooth, lighter kind of soft carbonation. Some stickiness in the finish. Sweeter taste, somewhat spicy, bit of a hot bite in the finish. Belgian candy sugar, some spice, very light citrus notes. Not a great tripel. Bite is pretty pronounced and unnecessary.

On tap at the Knick. Light bubblegum and yeast. Bit of fruity ester with mild alcohol vapor. Medium golden pale clear with thin white head. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation and alcohol warming. Starts sweet with honey, bubblegum esters, light chalky yeast and alcohol notes. Big sweet finish with light smooth after.

One finger head, thick, off white, mostly diminishing, amber brown color, mild fruit aroma kind of like a pear, a little boozy aftertaste that warms my throat.
