COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Robust in character yet smooth in delivery, Cabin Fever is a roasty brown ale and a hearty, comforting companion for long, mind-bending winters. Its rye, roast and raisin notes play off a subtle caramel sweetness and culminate in a dry finish. Excellent with roasts, stews, caramelized onions and snowfall.

Super smoky both in smell and taste. Thin head and reddish brown color. Light body for such a strong flavor

Bottle: Deep brown, oaky color with a light head, appearing far whiter than you’d expect from a brown ale. Decent retention, little lacing. Aroma is very, very nutty, sort of woodsy, & a little grainy. Faint notes of toasty malts & even more mild cacao bean towards the back-end. Warming aromatics. Taste is nutty, earthy, grainy, with a slight backdrop of toasted malts & a mild, spicy hop bitterness that lingers on the tongue. Slick mouth feel, needs a touch more carbonation. A decent brown ale, albeit sort of bland.

Transfer from BA review on 1-20-13- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – Served a medium brown colored beer with a one finger cream colored head. The head faded relatively quickly leaving a light level of lacing on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma was roasty and sweet. There was a good presence of chocolate and roasted malt with a sweet caramel and some milky smells. With these sweeter and roasted aromas there is a light toasted nut smell which rounds out the rest of the aromas nicely. Taste – The taste begins with a good roasted malt, chocolate, and some caramel flavors. The chocolate takes on a more milk chocolate flavor more toward the middle of the taste as some crrème comes to the tongue. A small amount of coffee and hop flavors as well as some roasted nut come to the tongue. These flavors take the taste to its end, leaving a light nut, sweet, and roasty flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel- The body of the beer was a bit more on the creamier side with a carbonation level that was on the lower side. This created a very smooth feel on the tongue which was wonderful for the roasted, chocolate, and light nut flavors of the brew. Overall – A rather tasty and moderately sweet brown ale with a smooth feel and a good drinkability. Quite a nice one to try if you get a chance.

This was courtesy of a trade with jandd1983 of Florissant, Missouri,. Thanks Doran. This beer poured a rich brown color and raised a nice off-white head. The nose was caramel malts and light touch of chocolate malts. Medium body. Smooth mouthfeel. The flavor was big in malts and there are some floral hops. Finish is malty, Quite decent. .

I was not expecting to like this as much as I did. I’m still a bit confused, in a good way, how this beer was put together. It was like a brown ale meets a chocolate shake. What I’ll remember most is the incredible creamy head and the decadent cocoa in the flavor. Its pretty crazy how much chocolate is in there.

12 oz. bottle from Joe. Pours brown, with a small, tan head. The aroma is coffee, black bread, and anise. Sweet, with a sharp, burnt bitterness. Medium to heavy body, chalky, and fairly thick. This is a fair brown ale, with too much toasted malt flavors.

Cabin fever pours a dark amber plumb color with a tan brown head that does not last long. The aroma is raisin, molasses and bread. The flavor is raisin and bread. Overall this is a decent beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle - pours a deep brown . Roasty coffee and mild cocoa . Lighter body than expected . Drinks more like a baby porter than a brown . Not bad . ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of chocolate and roasted coffee. Pours a muddy brown with an average head. Taste is wonderful. Dark chocolate, roasty malt and coffee attack your buddies of taste. The best tasting brown I’ve had in a while. Palate is medium bodied. Overall, like I said, this thing tastes so good. It is a little dryer than I remember, not as sweet. Must try.

Strong Brown Ale with chocolate, coffee and roasted malt flavors. Full bodied, almost porter like ale. Cabin Fever is built for winter nights.
