3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Carbonation seems high, and it has almost a lager mouthfeel. The flavor is hoppy for a nut brown, with some chocolate malt, but not enough nut flavor. Not really what I was expecting.

Bottle; poured a dark cola brown w/ a smallish light brown head. Aroma of nuts, cocoa, earth and caramel. Flavor was solid w/ some mild hopping in the finish. Earthy, dark fruit/raisin, caramel, w/ some nuttiness and cola notes. A bit thin on the palate, but fine.

12 oz bottle poured into an imperial pint. Pours a dark brown with a small tannish head that dissipates quickly. Smells of caramel, butterscotch, light generic hops. Tastes of caramel and rye and with a moderate bitterness with a nice balanced dry finish. Body is great for the style. Good winter beer. Worth drinking but nothing mind blowing. I would drink again.
