3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear deep chestnut under a fleeting off-white head.
Fresh berry aroma.
The flavor is lightly sweet on the front with tart berries coming in at the back along with some alcohol.

Clear deep red beer, short lived pale tan head. Palate is low carbonation and just slightly dry. Raspberry juice that is lightly rounded thanks to the barrelling. Semi dry finish. Disappointing! And where is the pear?

2012 vintage. It poured a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma was of raspberries, pears, oak and chocolate. The taste was of chocolate, raspberries and a touch of pear. Decent.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a strongly carbonated transparent dark cola brown colored body and a poor lacing. The weak aroma was berry and malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of sweet berry and malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Smells of berries and fruit, taste is similar with a heavy oak finish. A decent beer but too much going on for me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a murky iced tea color with a faint lacing around the ridges of the glass. Funky notes of peach and pear with hints of fermented grape. Detectable are notes of raspberry and oak. Hints of caramel from the malt is also apparent. Interesting, but also somewhat all over the place

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle, 2011 vintage. Clear dark red color, with a bit of a purple hue to it. Good thin light brown / tan head. Fruity nose. The berries are evident up front. Chocolate, wood. Pear flavor is something I have to look for -- it’s more subtle, but evident in the finish. Little loose lace. Light bitter taste, very mild tartness. Sweet dark fruit finish, some raisin, and strangely more blackberry than raspberry, for me. Smooth soft carbonation, medium to bigger body. Texture kind of creamy towards the end, which is cool. Definitely one of the more interesting fruit beers I’ve ever had. It’s cool to see them in the darker direction, backing off on the sweetness. Interesting and tasty brew, was enjoyable all the way through. Great depth of flavor. Definitely exceeded expectations.

Bottle - Mahogany pour with a thin ring of white head. Nose is sticky sweet fruit, raspberries and sugar. Caramel malt. Taste is caramel malt, fruit, brown sugar, and a sugary finish. Real slick and low carbonated. Not my favorite.

Whooee, this is a strange beer, but one of the best the brewery offered during my last visit in Oct, 2012. A multitude of fruity flavors, dominated by something between apple and pear juice, though sweeter fruit and a slight funk is present as well. Tried with Nick at the brewery.
