2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at Ashley’s. Pours black, almost no head, no lacing. Aroma is sweet cherry, vanilla, oak, booze. Taste is strong cherry sweetness with some barrel notes. Very unbalanced. Thin, yet medium bodied, abrupt sweet finish, low carbonation. An interesting idea that just doesn’t come together.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
10 oz serving at Ashleys (Ann Arbor) where it is listed as Ashleys 30th Anniv. Cherry Dragon’s Milk Stout.
Black with traces of red-brown at the edges. Small head.
Full, smooth body. Appropriate low carbonation.
Good cherry note in the aroma carries over nicely to the flavor. Fruit is well balanced with dark malts. May be a touch too sweet for some.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Glass at Ashley’s on 3/30/13. Darkest brown pour with a medium beige head. Aroma of cherries, chocolate and vanilla. Cherry and vanilla flavor with some alcohol before a creamy chocolate finish. I have to be in the right mood to enjoy regular Dragon’s Milk, but this one was quite delicious.

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Love dragons milk. However, this was not for me. The cherry was hardly to taste but yet it seemed less drinkable and thin. It also had a more brown red color than dragons milk.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
From tap- pours almost black mahogany with small coffee tan head. Aroma of medicinal cherry (high alcohol smell) with a faint background of caramel smoothness. Stark bite of high alcohol and medicinal cherry increasing. Aftertaste bitter. May have been skunked

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAR 27, 2013 Red Hot’s cinnamon scent, with a cherry background, though reserved. Maroon / brown edges on a dark, sexy brown body. A good amount of allspice in the flavor, fading into very reserved cherry on the palate. It’s a wonderful beer, and one of the like’s I have not had the luxury of tasting before - with execution I cannot will be easy to beat.
