Dragonís Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Bottle. Dark brown with a thin tan head. Smells of chocolate, toffee, and alcohol. Medium body and creamy texture. Very sweet up front with nice alcohol warmth that lingers for a while. Hints of oak and bourbon with a tinge of hoppy bitterness. One of my favorites!

2014 poured from bote to glass. Dark hue with creamy brown hue that dissipated to a medium ring. Aroma is chocolate, toffee, caramel, roastiness, vanilla, oak. Mouthfeel is nice with a medium full body and crisp carbonation. Taste is sweet (but not cloying) with a nice roasted following and slight ethanol finish. Overall this is a VERY good and well balanced brew!

650 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a ruby-tinged dark brown with good-sized, creamy, lacey light tan head. Aroma is roasty, dark malts, dark fruit, oak and bourbon. Flavour has fair amount of oaky, vanillay barrel, a solid treacley , roasty dark malt, a bit of brown sugar and dark fruit and hints of bourbon. Silky mouthfeel. Impressive.

Seeing that I am Dragon Born, it makes sense to pull this from the LCBO shelf. It makes even more sense after seeing the high ratings here. And yet ... Is it maybe a little over rated by some on here? Pours oil spill black with a super thin cap that fades quicker than my drinking buddyís hairline. The booze is stealthy & the barrel is balanced & the malts are a little too sugary. Almost tastes like a weak pour of Jim Beam dumped into a glass of flat cola. Once again, Iíd love to know where they source the barrels but like most brewers they donít bother. Anyone know?

Solid. Seems like good value for the price. Like a BA Old Rasputin-lite. Thin body.

Dark black color with good lace. Big malty sweet chocolate , esprosso grounds aroma with stewed fruit and vanillin as it opens up. Big. Rich. Boozy whiskey finish. What more can one ask for. Primo stuff.

I still believe that this is hands down the best bourbon stout in terms of year round availability at a reasonable price. It also happens to be a pretty decent stout. I’d probably give it a tad lower rating if it weren’t for those two reasons but I have to give credit where it is due when I can go into most every grocery store where I live and pick up a bottle at any time. That has to count for something. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle pours dark brown w cognac highlights, fine tan cap. Taste blossoms with malty toffee, oak vanillin and bourbon caramel candy corn. Rich and smooth with a full palate that shows some dry hop balance. Fruit flavours of black raisin and very smooth alcohol.

Bottle. Pours black with thin creme colored head that dissipates. Mild chocolate aroma over light carbonation. Thick mouthfeel, bourbon vanilla flavors in a roasted malt stout. I bet this is nails on draught. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
