COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Dark no head bitter beer. Like it on draft way more than in bottle. Taste the malt and smooth.

I didn’t even know this was a stout before opening. Obviously, this was a strong stout. It could be a bit smoother, but overall a flavorful beverage.

Love the bourbon flavor as it subtlety hits the palate after a few sips. As you finish the tap filled glass, you appreciate the oaky flavor just like a fine whiskey. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle care of Mr Paul Unwin. Colour is like dark Coca-cola, quite bubbly, thin off white head. Nose is spicy wood oak, lots of boubon whiskey, English ale fruity, very malty. Taste is soft, vanilla, wood bitter, very alcoholic feel, bourbon whiskey and a burn on the finish.

Aromas of dark chocolate, chicory, dry Italian cookies, cherries, raisins, and hints of espresso. Black with a fully retaining, beige head. Off-dry with flavors of cherry, raisin, and dark chocolate, along with subtle notes of vanilla and bourbon. Medium-full bodied with soft, fluffy carbonation, strong and slightly hot, and finishes with sticky chocolate-covered bourbon candy on the tongue.

2013 vintage, 12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. Huge thanks to match1112! A - Pours a clear brown but sits nearly black. If you squint hard enough you can see the bottom of the glass. Two fingers of light khaki foam settle down into thin edging. Looks a little thin, but a pretty basic stout appearance. S - Oh boy. This is like a double oaked stout, only the base beer is average and the oak isn’t exactly welcome. Its just an awkward mix of super intense wood, synthetic vanilla, and dry chocolate powder. T - That dreadful aroma in liquid form! Lots of over the top oak, fake vanilla, and a dry chocolate that is missing any sweetness. This is a weird beer. Its not bad, but its not good. Its exactly in the middle. I mean I don’t mind if I had another sip of this but the prospect isn’t entirely attractive. Thin to medium body, meh carbonation. O - Like a clothespin with a chocolate powder dusting. The barrel aging seemed forced and artificial and the base beer was probably not an all star to begin with. Happy to try this beer because now I know!

A lovely scent of bourbon and chocolaty coffee, sweet and smooth, dark and heavy. It’s one of those brews that after the first sip, it just rolls right off the tongue leaving a buttery rich flavor and the punch of a light bourbon.

The first sip was like, "Yeah, its okay." But about 5 sips later I’m noticing the sweetness. The hint of bourbon. The smooth, creamy slide as it goes down my throat. And it hit me: This is a really good beer. It touches on a lot of the things I love. A silky version of Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Stout, which is one of my faves. With a 10% ABV thump. And for only $7.99 a bomber! These are the little surprise gems that make the craft beer hunt so much fun.

On draft at New Bohemia in Minneapolis. Dark black pour with no head, Lots of tan lacing. Slight bourbon and oak on the nose. Very smooth, soft carbonation, big chocolate, slight heat and just a hint of bourbon in the finish. Really nice!
