Dragonís Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Bottle->snifter. Black with thin head. Aroma is chocolate, malt, alcohol. Taste is oak, malt, chocolate with bitter bourbon aftertaste. A touch thin, but overall very good.

Bomber at beach- thanks Barb! Good enough for Mom to take 3 sips, so pretty good. Pours dark black with a decent head that sticks around. Oak, bourbon and vanilla definitely there and flirting with being overpowering. Well balanced- manages to be sweet and bitter but not overly so. Typical dark beer notes. Somewhat boozy. Very drinkable. Not overly complex. Went down nicely with SNL 40th.

Not a bad beer. You can get it pretty much any time you go to the store. Not bad.

Great tasting beer full of body and aroma. Wonderful chocolate and vanilla tastes.

Fairly complex aromas of malt, bourbon, vanilla and roasted aromas. Just a hint of chocolate, perhaps very slight coffee. Color is a very dark brown with a light tan, but very slight head. Nicely sweet and bitter without either one being over the top. Pretty full bodied; a bit of an oily texture; carbonation is soft; fairly long finish. The 11% alcohol does not come across as much as Iíd expect - this is a good thing. Overall a pretty good beer. I like that that the bourbon and alcohol are not overwhelming. On the other hand the base beer lacks some of the power and complexity of some of the very best stouts.

I recognise the ability required in order to craft this kind of beer, but the alcoholic touch just didnít work for me.

12 oz bottle pours black with a soft light brown head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla and dark fruit. Great flavor, was fooled by the abv rating. Smooth beer, just enough carbonation to keep me interested. I had this at a restaurant and it worked really well with a big greasy cheeseburger.

Bomber. 2014 vintage -- and it says 11% ABV on the label BTW. Poured (fittingly) into my Game of Thrones snifter with the Targaryen 3-headed dragon sigil on it... yeah, Iím that guy. Looks a stouty brownish-black, medium tan head, decent retention and so-so lacing. Nose is barrel, brown sugar, dried fruit (dates and raisins in particular), vanilla, cocoa, touch metallic. Mouth is medium sweet, cocoa, dark roast, soot, dried fruit, booze, medium soft carbonation. Not BCS or Black Note... but for $7.99 at The Jewel, not a bad little BA stout.

Pours a deep dark brown from a bottle, aroma is of oak, slight coffee. Flavor is a slight smoky, dark roasted coffee with vanilla notes. Good but not overpowering alcohol burn. Very good beer.

Bottle. Vanilla, butterscotch, and oaky ethanol aroma with faint coffee with milk. Opaque black with clear, ruby highlights. Sweet, bourbon-like flavour, with tongue numbing licorice and faint fudge browney accents. Medium full body, moderate carbonation, sweet finish.

I certainly like it, but itís not quite in the elite of the imperial stout class. Too much vanilla (which isnít my thing). Would probably age great but patience isnít my thing either. I like the bourbon and dark fruit, just not the vanilla.
