Dragonís Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Good craft beer. Lovely aged oak taste with hints of licorice and chocolate. Occasional hop hints but primarily smooth and semi sweet. This is a great beer for the price. The best new holland I've had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Excellent beer. Smooth and slightly sweet with a milky finish. Reminds me of a Tactical Nuclear Penguin, but lower in ABV.

Bottle: I know this gets a lot of praise for being a year-round, easy available bourbon barrel aged stout, but itís one that Iíve personally just never been a fan of. Dark, dark brown pour with a modest tan film on top, looks thinner than youíd expect a 10% ABV stout to look. Hefty aroma of pungent whiskey, dark cocoa, oak, tannic wood, sugary vanilla extract, dark figs, dates, & mild anise. Really stings the nostrils. Stings the taste buds, too. Heavy booze, roasted malt, molasses, musky wood chips, burnt brown sugar, moderate vanilla, dark & bitter cocoa beans, astringent whiskey finish. The boozy strength grows with time. I mean, I know itís a 10% ABV stout, but the whiskey is not integrated so deftly. In a pinch, itís... Okay. But compared to other (unfortunately, harder to acquire) beers of the style, it is very unrefined.

Dark black color. Big tan head. Lots of toasty coffee aroma. Little flat tasting, little alcohol taste, lots of coffee. Itís good.

Growler. Dark black. Some lingering head. Full, rich body. Boozey but malty nose. A great balance of alcohol, dark fruits, malt, etc. A fantastic imperial stout.

Another style that isnít my favorite. High alcohol. Strong bourbon flavor. And yet I love this beer. Nicely done.

China Cottage, Dayton, draft. Stinging chocolate extract aroma. Dark root beer appearance. Strong alcohol taste, sharp chocolate. Head doesn't last as long as I expected. Taste more like a liqueur than a beer. Could not drink a lot. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

One of the best bourbon barrel ales I have ever had. Sweet, oakie, and smokey with hints of caramel and a little bit of chocolate. Big hit of alcohol but that is to be expected with a high gravity beer. Great mouth feel, all around excellent.

Great barrel aged beer for the price and availability. Nice oak flavor combined with a very good sweet, chocolate base. Will definitely make this one to always have on hand and aging ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2014 vintage. Pours a very dark brown with ruby red edges and a small tan head. Aromas of oak, vanilla, chocolate, some roast. Taste is semi sweet and lightly bitter. Flavors of marshmallow, oak, vanilla and a huge dose of chocolate. Alcohol is kept in check. Very nice chocolate expression without being cloying. This is a very nice imperial stout that quite frankly, far exceeded my expectations. Finish is oaked chocolate. Very nice.

Very dark brown, small tan head. Aroma toasty malt and coffee. Medium full body. Alcohol very well hidden. A little carbonation. Roasted malt, coffee and cola flavors, bit of oak. Flavors decent, drinkability good, but somewhat lacking in richness.
