COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dragonís Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

The aroma is roasty with the strong smell of chocolate. It is black with almost no light through it with a brown head. It has a strong alcohol taste, complex flavors with hints of bourbon mixed with chocolate. There is a wood after taste with a bitter finish.

12 oz. bottle. 2014 Vintage, 11% ABV. Pours a thick, well retained, tiny bubbled, beige head, with slight lacing, over a clear blackish brown body.....nose is molasses, tobacco, bourbon, dried fruits including plum, raisin, cocoa, chocolate, balance heavily to the malts......taste is moderately sweet with molasses, brown sugar note, dried fruits with plum, raisin, cocoa, chocolate, tobacco, vanilla, bourbon, light hop bitterness, balance to the malts and barrel.....mouth feel, medium body, high alcohol warmth, sticky, creamy carbonation. This is a rich, delightfully complex beer. Body is remarkably light and it might need a smidgen of wheat, oats or flaked barley in the malt bill. It is quite sweet, and could perhaps use a bit more hop contribution to help balance back the heavy hearty malts. BJCP 8/3/15/4/7

2014 vintage. Pours almost jet black. Good head volume, excellent retention and lacing. Rich nose of bourbon (which becomes more pronounced as temperature increases) plus sweet and dark chocolate dominate. Underneath is a light roast, subtle caramel sweetness and notes of vanilla and oak. Light full body with a nice creamy texture that also has a bit of oiliness to it. Slightly above normal carbonation with a nice burst of effervescence in the finish. The flavor profile is quite intense, very complex but poorly balanced. Bourbon dominates throughout, resulting in the complex flavors being reduced to subservient roles. It begins with a rush of bourbon that slowly allows a sweet caramel and chocolate to emerge. Towards the middle, a mild roast bitterness comes forward against a slight bite of tannic oak. The middle produces a very nice vanilla note. The finish is dominated by alcohol, with notes of bourbon flavor, and the associated burn at the back of the throat. As these subside, a sweet note of vanilla and oak linger with caramel characteristics. Considering this is 11% ABV, theyíve done a fair job of covering it. The main drawback is that the amazing complexity is never allowed to truly emerge.

From a growler. A black body with a fast fading brown head. Aroma was a mix of roasted malts, oak and alcohol with hints of vanilla and leather. Flavor had nice roasted flavors and there was a hint of chocolate. A strong bourbon presence in the finish. Light on the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650ml bottle. Dark brown body, medium chocolate head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of licorice, dark berries, alcohol, roasted malt, a touch of leather. Taste is very malty: lots of caramel malt, dark chocolate, herbs liquor, alcohol. Too boozy.

Pours pitch black with a one finger khaki head with nice lacing. Aroma is of roasted malts, dark fruits, bourbon, anise, coffee, dark chocolate, and maybe just a little booze. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma with a lot of nice bourbon and roasted malt notes. Has a medium-full body with a creamy mouthfeel a semi bitter, long, lingering finish. Overall, a tasty, complex imperial stout.

750 ml bottle from LCBO, served cool in a tulip glass.

App.: Deep brown-black with ruby highlights and a decent light mocha head. Aroma: A bit bright and savoury, peppery, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, molasses, a touch smoky, brown sugar and a sweet toffee note, a little vanilla, some nice maltiness that seems to be overridden by that odd savoury/peppery aroma. Palate: Medium-full body with restrained carbonation and a syrupy feel. Flav.: Very sweet and rich dark maltiness, milk chocolate abounds, with some molasses and vanilla, coconut, barrel character is nicely integrated, slightly peppery/spicy, quite good...could temperature be the reason for the weird aromas?; sweet with balancing bitterness and a long, boozy, richly malty and slightly peppery finish.

This is a big momma Dragon.
