4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
under-complicated review: I have had this before in bottles. Draft tonight for first time. This was my second beer of the night, and I spent time socializing instead of smelling or looking. I know it is a beautiful looking beer in the snifter. This was one of the first bourbon aged beers I have had, and still one of the better ones. A lot seem like cheap booze, or very overpowering. This is more complimentary. It is a good craft beer, with hints in the smell and taste of bourbon. It is a sipper, but one that as it warms just improves. Very good beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, black beer, almond colored head dissapeared, but decent lace. Aroma molasses, anise, vanilla, bourbon, dried plum. Taste is molasses, vanilla, coffee, cherries, bourbon, cookies. This is a bit sweet, but suprisingly juicy, and a nice anise finish. Palate is rich but not syrupy, carbonation very subdued. This is a great desert beer. Ice cream would not be wrong here.

Jet black, with cherry red edges. Bubbly mocha head. Iím going to skip the usual aromas and tastes claptrap, and say this is chocolate colliding with bourbon....nay, embracing it, caressing it and merging into a sum greater than the whole. I fear I am underrating this outstanding gem.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma chocolate, roasty, wet wood,
Appearance black, minimal head, tan foam,
Taste wet wood, medium sweetness,
Palate medium body, full body,
Overall taste great but didnít get much bourbon. Got more oak and wet wood. Hides the alcohol very well. I would suggest this beer to a friend who likes a stronger tasting beer

Big bottle into tulip. Served lightly chilled. Off white, thick soft head disipates fairly quickly. Light lacing. Beer is deep black color. Aroma is fairly strong with notes of fruits and honey. Taste is malty and light to medium sweet. Noticable alcohol.Strong notes of oak and vanilla. Some chocolate. Soft, somewhat creamy finish. Full bodied beer. Overall great enjoyable beer. Likely on my list of top 10 barrel aged stouts.

. Pitch blackish, with a ruby fringe. Head of thin off-white. Aroma of light honey, port and cherries. Sugary fruit flavor, with obscene amouns of vanilla sugar, gentle candied bourbon and molasses. The barrel just leaks tremendous amounts of flavor. Fantastic. Delectable. Creamy sugary sweetness. Cool, lucious silkyness that I look for and love in various barrel aged beers. Itís almost condensed to the point of syrup

Smells rich and boozy. Quite a bit of head at first that faded but didnít vanish. Very dark black pour. Thatís got some kick to it. You can really taste the bourbon. Nice and roasty and malty. Very well balanced. Excellent beer.
